    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    Asalam U Alikum Everyone:

AC Compressor of my car gets seized. I am talking to different mechanics for different solutions like:
    1) Kabli Daewoo compressor; cost around 3 to 4K and with Gas and tuning total will be 7K.
    2) Daewoo Original brand new cost around 12 to 15K including Gas and Tunning.
    3) Senden Kabli Compressor with all Modifications (Which i am not sure about) cost around 12K
    4) Senden New Compressor with all modifications, cost around 15K

Please explain what modifications are required if i choose any of Senden option or should I go for Daewoo Kabli one. I can't spend alot of money on it. I already spend much on my ride . And now i m getting annoyed by it.

nice panels ... test driver regardin AC in Daewoo ... I have an observation and a query .. while driving wid AC turned on wen ever i accelarate suddenly or the car requires more power i hear a "tick" sound .. much like wen a relay operates and the compressor is turned off momentarily as coolin is suddenly reduced ... relaxin the accelarator paddle turns on immediately .. is this a feature to some fault ??

It is a normal feature that under load the A/C compressor relieves the engine to release the maximum output off the engine!

    @testdriver:
while driving car on CNG and AC is on, Car moves smoothly while temperature is at low level. when it reaches near to mid level, car pickup slows to a greater extent. why it is so?

With A/C 'ON' and increased temperature, the head pressure increases and as a result the engine performance deteriorate.

If the radiator, radiator fan are working properly; the engine will retain good operating temperature. If the engine keeps on heating-up, the problem will remain there. Check for the following:

    1. Does the radiator fan start upon 'A/C' ON? If not, get the high pressure switch (behind A/C compressor) checked for any problem.

    2. Did you install additional condenser fan? If not, install one!

Radiator fan is direct and remains on during AC working. Condensar also has separate fan.
I will have to check high pressure switch on compressor.

    Default new member!

    hi people..

i've had may daewoo racer in the family for 16 years, and im proud to have it. it's cheap, dependable, and easy to maintain. nothing more meat-and-pie engineering than this car.

it's been down since a flood took it out September of last year, but its currently on its way to some long overdue restoration.

@mayford: i noticed your woo has rather new headlights. where did you source them? mine is old, blurred and starting to turn yellow, and im looking to have them replaced rather soon.

and yes, i do have an original daewoo roof rack that fits smack into the roof railing.

how do i get 17" rims in? i have r14 185/65 installed right now, and the rubber of my rear tires almost hits the edge of the rear fender. if it chafes at high speed, im pretty sure it will rip my tires. what spec of 15" or 16" have you tried? what diameter should i get?
