    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

@Those welcoming me: Thank you, it feels great to be a part of this club.

    @ my AC Repair:
I went to Nadeem Car A/C today at 12:30 PM and finished at 8: 00 PM but it was worth it coz AC is working fine now. However had to change some of my plans as the Sanden Kabli compressor available looked prety much used to me and was Leak big time. I had the option of either buying repaired Kabli (Japanese) one or purchasing a new 507-R134 Sanden Compressor made in Singapore. Opted for the New Compressor. This is the summary of what was done

    1. The condenser, cooling coil and all the pipes were cleaned from inside using petrol and then applying some pressure on one end which made a lot of Black filth come out from the other end. (filter bottle ramained as it was as i was told it couldnt be opened!!!)

    2. New adjuster pulley and bracket was installed to accommodate the new compressor.

    3. Thermostat was installed to control the temperature, not satisfied with the solution though as thermostat is connected adjacent to the A/C filter (yes, under the hood) rather than being inside the car, and it makes the compressor switch on and off every 15 sec or so once the filter reaches the threshold temperature....Not sure if testdriver has the thermostat installed in similar manner.

    4. Pipes coming in and out of compressor were modified by cutting ends on one side (compressor's side) and new connectors were welded to make connections with new compressor as it is not similar to genuine woo's compressor.

    5. Gas charged.

Whole deal cost me 12,000, I was told 12,500 in the start and i m not much of a negotiator. Will think of some thing to sort out the thermostat issue, otherwise i am pretty satisfied with the work. Compressor is real easy on engine as mentioned earlier by testdriver. Cooling is good for now. Also hoping that the Singapore make compressor is good enough. Let me give it some time and see all this was worth Rs 12,000 or not.

Ya , you are right in that sence, Only testing on some hot day will provide a proper assessment of the cooling. However, when i tested the AC without thermostat being installed, it was really chilling inside the car. Hopefully it will work fine in june/july's heat.
Anyways, have to adjust the thermostat though to increase the cooling a bit and have to find a solution for thermostat switching the compressor ON and OFF on regular basis as this might damage the compressor...

yes it is giving continuously whole day "white smoke", and the woo is getting hotter day by day.

some one from the net like "Skotty Kilmer" told me that your gasket is blown. he suggested me to replace the gasket only and your problem will be solved.

about the speedmeter cable one of the mechanic told me that pakistani is not good in performance some times it shows over speed and some times it shows low speed.

he asked some one in front of me that he need 250 + cables

mausam bhi to garam hota ja raha hai , check ur radiator system first than gasket , sometime faulty gasket is also responsible for white smoke

Some mechanic says that advancer is of no use in daewoo??

WHat i feel is that if advancer is installed in te woo it will help not to advance the car more on CNG as compare to petrol, in order to get bette pickup and fuel efficieny on gas. And car will also not produce knocking on petrol.

    Is it so???
