    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

    I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

    I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

    Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    i also wanted to increase blower speed, and tried to get opened dashboard but AC wala advised me do not open the dashboard , its made by cardboard so there might be chances of damages while re-fitting so i have changed my decision,

    @omeranwar and All:

    Thanks dear.
    after visiting the market what i felt was that no one can diff betwteen China made and Singpore made compressors even the wholesale dealer was of the same opinion.
    Wholesale dealer asked me to purchase a Singa made compressor of 6K (wholesale price), according to him both china and singapore made compressors are same and diff is of brand name/bar code sticker.

    Can take example of hard ball Cricket bat of Malik brand (Sher, Bubbersher) whihc sells in market of RS 10 to 12 K but same bat without brand name is for Rs 4.5K only.

    According to him same case is with compressors.
    So i opted for Rs 6k Compressor (singapore made without brand) instead of Rs7K compressor (singapore) and got it fitted in my car and is workling fine.

    Total cost is Rs 8,230/-:
    Compressor Rs 6K (whole-sale price)
    Bracket, Adjuster pulley, bearing, thermostat valve Rs 900.
    AC Pype nose fitting Rs 130
    Gas charging + Radiator cleansing Rs 1200

    Mechnaic was bursting for low amount for gas charging and labour i.e. Rs 1200.
    But I did't care about it as he had already charged labour previously!!

    Sanden realy has almost half load on engine as comapre to daewoo origional one.

    @Tetsdrive or any one :

    During current wave of "pocket ripping off" mechanic has advised to change radiator as existing one is weak. Same opinion was also given by the Kalay Khan radiator expert at Saddar Rawalpindi.

    Now i want to change it. Defifnitely i will not go for new one of Rs 12000.
    Kabli is of Rs 5000 approx.

    Any opinion about it.

    Mechanic says that change of radiator will alos result in better cooling as engine will not be so heated up and condensor will work more efficiently.
    All other things are fine i.e., radiator fan, condensor fan, heat gauge, no water reduction etc.

    Probably Zamanother has changed the radiator currently????

    Pertfect AC mechanic or dentor can perform this job very easily without any problem. better go for them inatead of yourself considering the hardboard breaking/damage risk.
    I have performed the same task thru AC mechanic in my woo w/o any problem.

    I am tatally againt all this caltex, shell etc. they charge more for their brand name. caltex havoline exhausted white smoke from my woo's overhauled engine withour any reason whihc vanmished with chnage of oil.alos thes eoils has to be chnaged maximmj after 2 to 3K Km mileage.

    I have used A Korean branded synthetic oil (Rs1300 only) at lahore, tomorrow i will post its pic and brand name which i dont remember now.

    @shah73
    no doubt good radiator system helps for better AC cooling. my radiator was also weak and in last summer i got repaired , some welding tankay , some elfi use , also radiator guy adivise me to change radiator in next summer. but this summer i am still using existing radiator , there is no issue of heating up , leakage , water consumption.

    dears, please don't open dashboard, atleast for this purpose.
    For better throw you can install blower relay.

    Hey guys,
    My woo's battery is dead. it was working fine till two days ago. Some thing must have gone wrong recently like some short circuit or something as batteries usually dont die out in summer. Will check the wiring.
    Anyways, i was planing to change it in summer. But the circumstances ask for an urgent change. My woo had that bulky, ugly looking Exide battery with 65 Amp Hr rating. i have seen some woos with those smart looking 'Hankook' battries. how do they perform? Currently i dont have any sound system in my car. Will get one next month and the amplifier is supposedly also powered by battery. Keeping this in mind, what battery do you recommend and plz do mention the approximate price . If you know a good dealer, i would appreciate if you could inform me about the address.

    As my battery is totally dead, need to replace it tomorrow so an urgent response will be really appreciated.

    hankook is a low profile battery , its imported and price almost 8k to 9k, performance is almost same as exide.
