    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

    I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

    I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

    Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    Well 230k yea... there was a slight problem though hence he came down to 230k. The car had a duplicate book (if you did not know already) but after checking from excise & taxation department the car's file was original. Also i have no such of plans of selling this car in the future, will use it as long as it runs so i bought it!

    @JuGnO
    Thanks bro.

    Still waiting for an answer to the questions i asked in my previous post!

    and by the way BRAVO!! the parts/workshop contacts on page 3 are very useful! thanks for the effort testdriver
    haha now u come to the point ... duplicate books do mark a declined price however I see no harm in gettin and using a car wid one .. Infacts its a v good deal you get the same thing for decreased price

    There is no harm in putting 5 forward transmission in a SOHC. 5th gear is for highway fuel efficiency, like on 4 forward, you achieve 100km/h on around 3300RPM in 4th gear as compared to 120Km/h on same rpms on 5th gear. After one hour of usage, you will reach 120Km in 5th gear while 100Km in 4th gear in almost same amount of fuel. Only the lever assembly console needs to be altered.

    thanks for briefing, as i remeber last year i went lahore via Motorway , i check my RPM with AC , that was 3500 with 120 km/h speed 4th gear. so 5 forward trasnmission is good for econmy specially on long routes.

    bro thanks for ur timely replies, i have installed the new genuine disc rotors worth rupees 3500/- from rajput autos and now quite satisfied with results, but there is one weakness and i think its with all racers, that is brake, the wheels locks and vehicle began to drag ahead with locked wheels, i have already replaced the brake servo with the indus model 2.0D's servo, it improved a bit but at the end the problem is same. i can't depend on its brakes on high speeds and emergency braking. is anything possible to improve the braking performance, if not like civic, even little lesser then that, but this thing should be done. i m completely satisfied with the car's overall performance but when it comes to brakes i m very much dishearted. kindly help.

    second thing is the life of timing belt of racer is very less. last sunday i got it replaced just after 17000 kms because of bad condition. is every one facing the same problem or its just with my car.

    waiting for earliest possible reply.

    regards
    Daewoo brakes works diagonally, the front left wheel and rear right wheels gets the brake pressure before the front right and rear left wheel. They need to be regularly serviced(usually the sliding kit is the culprit and needs to be replaced after every three months or 5000km) so that the braking pressure distribution between front left+ rear right wheel and front right + rear left does not get disturbed otherwise the front left wheel will stop first and the car will tend to move left during braking.
    I have installed Cielo brake Servo with master cylinder and piping have been modified accordingly. The Cielo master cylinder works in front-rear configuration. The braking is very efficient now!

    Does anyone know the price of a new Muffler ( dholki ) for daewoo. If genuine one available from kabli part shops ? Sound and performance should match the original one. One more thing what is the size of exaust piping in genuine daewoo . Is it 2 inch or 2.5 inch .
