    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

    I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

    I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

    Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    AoA,

    Can any1 confirm if daewoo racer hubs have pcd of 110? I read somewhere on this thread that Charade rims can be put on Daewoo Racer.

    Dear All, and (testDrive)

    I am happy to see that now really understand GM EFI.

    Could someone help me in replacement of Daewoo Racer A/C with conventional A/C used in Toyota/Honda/Suzuki etc ..... . The problem I have faced is with high/low pressure switches and ECU signaling while A/C Clutch ON.

    I tried to connect conventional a/c, when it turn ON, idle speed drops or engine stop. However, A/C was working and satisfactory cooling achived.

    I feel, it can be possible to connect a conventional A/C in daewoo Racer if wiring is handle properly. or 12+ will be provided to ECU desired pin.

    Need valuable feed back from all and specially testdrive.

    Regards,

    Abdul Rauf.

    @shahabrk

    Daewoo has the following sensors.

    1. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) - attached to throttle body
    2. Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) - Under throttle body
    3. Manifold Absoulte Pressure Sensor (MAP Sensor) - Vehicle fire wall
    4. Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) - above gear box (leading to Speedo cable)

    In addition to that, it has an Idle Air Control Valve (IAC Valve) to control the Idle engine RPMS....

    @Proverbial_Slang

    Daewoo's hub has PCD of 100 same as that of Charade, so you can fit them interchangeably.

    @abdulr

    The problem seems with the A/C relays in the fuse box. Get your car checked by an electrician. As far as replacement of the A/C system is concerned, you can also replace the whole system, since ECM only provide a signal to the A/C relay, and then it is put forward to the compressor....

    Actually RPMs are adjusted on the basis of VSS during motion, so this is quite normal, if the RPMs comes down when the car is static. If the RPMs are not coming down, the Idle Screw, TPS or the CTS might be problematic.....

    Thanx a lot testdriver. Really appreciate the answers. The reason I asked this question is that I have a 1985 G11 Charade and the tyre shops tell me I can't fit any other car's rims on it.

    From the link u posted, it seems there r quite a few cars who's PCD matche including ppre 1992 civic and accord.

    Thanx again.

    @devilousangel

    Why don't you go for the engine like the one in my car? It is producing ~30N.m. more torque and ~20HP more than the TBI engine. You can play around with that engine to produce more HP, like putting a turbo. I think a 1.5L engine with ~140 HP and ~150 N.m torque will serve better. The most important thing is that you don't have to alter anything in the wiring, engine bay, and the current gearbox is bolt-on. Just the engine with ECM and wiring will cost you around Rs.30K.

    If going for any other engine like 20V ST, you have to modify the engine bay, the complete wiring including the entire indash wiring, rear wiring, battery wiring, ignition switch wiring and the fuse-box has to be replaced/altered which needs an expert electrician.....If you can easily manage to do all these things you can go for the swap

    Salam All,

    I have a problem with my car... its heater core leaked a year back... and as usual i cut its water supply and left it like that

    now these rains have actually forced me to plan a DIY on this weekend to fix the core leak.

    I know the core's location and am experience in DIY fixes... but handling daewoo's fragile dashboard is not easy

    I need information on this... anything that anyone knows on how to easily get the core out... which dash panels need to be opened... anybody having had similar problem or had seen dashboard dismounting.. HELPPP !!

    I'll post the pics when and if i finish the job...lol...

    changing only the proportionating valve gives same result as a full servo and master cylinder replacement.

    (y).....Looking nice. These bumpers are of 'Fantasy' and 'Racer GSi'. For how much you got them?

    @Akif

    Change the brake setup if necessary. I upgraded the brake system (servo+mater cylinder) due to a problem. They were not fully supporting the new engine setup, causing brake heat-ups and early pads worn outs.

    I tried the cross-linked servo+master cylinder of Cielo, but the end result was not that good....Now I am quite satisfied with the performance with the new servo I think from Nissan.....(Straigth-linked)

    i worked on ur idea... the proportioning value could be a problem... coz while braking the rears never lockup... and its usually the fronts locking up very early resulting in a skid and poor braking.... i use a manual ABS procedure to avoid skids

    i am currently reading abt proportioning valve role and its adjustments etc... will update u guys once i come up with something

    @testdriver

    bhai im looking into all possibilities... i liked spectra's idea... will ask u for details InshAllah
