    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

Is the fuel pump running fine? Get it's pressure checked and identify the problem area. If pump is fine, get the injector checked for proper working. Usually CNG installers cut-off the main pump and injector wiring and provide the connection from CNG switch through improper gauge wires causing the voltage and current drop and as a result the engine stalls due to insufficient petrol supply. Better install a relay to operate the pump and injector using CNG switch wire as remote.

STAP stands for Spark Timing Advance Processor and 56 stands for maximum achievable timing advance from the device. It is basically a standalone spark timing processor that bypass the ECM and provide the spark timing on it's own according to engine RPM during operation on CNG. The non-STAP advancers are correction devices that alter the MAP readings and the ECM automatically adjust the timing accordingly (upto a fixed pre-programmed timing). STAP is more efficient than the timing correction devices since they directly control the timing and user has option to set the advance level manually using the micro switches located on the advancer.

Faulty Fuel pump can be the culprit. Check if the petrol is contaminated with too much rust from the tank.

Got my car battery replaced today. Initially i had planned for Hankook but this company doesn't even maintain a proper website. Was very difficult to search for its products and specifications. A lot of threads related to batteries seem to rate ACDelco and Bosch very high. Both were available at a shop in melody Islamabad. Bosch costed 12,000 RS ONLY. Was in no mood to buy such a CHEAP battery. So went for ACDelco NS70R Maintainance free battery. Whole deal after surrendering the old battery costed Rs 8000/-.
All the weird behaviors of car are now rectified. This battery even looks good under the hood. Doesn't touch the top. Hoping it will last at-least 3 years.
One little question, ACDelco batteries have a builtin Hydrometer. Tried to observe it but couldnt see anything. No green, no dark Green, no yellow, only dark black. Anyone with experience of using Hydrometer? Do i check it with naked eye or with some equipment?
