    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

wat could be the reasons ,

My Car's AC compressor is no more working. I thought that summer would leave by the end of August but it seems, I will have to wait for another month so, without AC it's a pain in a** to get in the car.

Some Daewoo owners told me not to buy the Kabli one because it wont last long. Some of them told me a company, Sanden I guess. They said that Sanden Compressors are very good.

Please suggest and also tell me the cost of the recommended one. Thank you

    Default Daewoo Compressor

    @zaheerkhan

Most of the people had a bad experience with daewoo kabli compressors, they have a short life.
Better go for new or little used Sanden (Janpanese)
A good condition used Sanden with platform(so as to fit in daewoo) cost around 5k.
Comparatively Sanden compressors exert less load on engine.
Don't forget the A/C system to be cleaned!

    Good Luck.

no doubt we have to face this summer for more than one month , 3 month ago i installed used sandan compressor (Price 4500) , also installed power relay with compressor and blower fan , additional fan with condenser , and i am still enjoying its chilling performance even in hottest noon.

How much did you spend in total? I already have an additional fan for AC.

So, the total expense will be 4500 (Compressor) + 2000 (AC Gas) + Service charges?

    Thank you

Default CNG settings goes out frequently

    Salam to all Daewoo Lovers,

My Daewoo Racer gets into a problem quite frequently. The problem is that when I start the car (my car starts on petrol and shifts to CNG automatically), and it shifts to CNG, the race automatically gets increased and the engine starts giving loud sound. As I apply the gear and move it this problem vanishes but during the drive whenever I change the car to neutral, again the race automatically goes up and engine sound goes up. Usually the mechanic adjusts the CNG setting and the problem goes away for a few days but comes back again.
Kindly diagnose the problem and suggest a permanent solution. Does this problem has something to do with AC?

    Thanx

according to my observation the problem is in IAC valve , definately high RPM(speed)is responsible for loud engine sound. ur IAC valve needs some cleaning.

for ur information here is some IAC valve info :
An IAC (idle air control) motor is designed to adjust the idle RPM speed by opening and closing an air bypass passage inside the throttle body. The computer or ECM (electronic control module) receives information from various sensors and will output signals to adjust the IAC motor in or out to adjust engine idle speed by controlling idle air. An IAC motor can fail one of two ways, either the motor short circuits and stops working or the motor will develop high resistance and cause the IAC control motor to react slowly, either failure can cause the engine to stall at idle. When a trouble code scan is performed it sometimes won't always detect a failed or weak IAC motor. To check the IAC motor remove the unit, with the wires connected turn the key to the "on" position without starting the engine, the IAC should move in or out. If the IAC motor does nothing it has probably failed, replace it with a new unit and recheck system. Note: while the IAC motor is removed clean (use aerosol carburetor cleaner) the passages the IAC uses to control idle air speed, also inspect the IAC for a build-up on the seating (pointed) end and clean as necessary.

Jazakallah for such a detailed and prompt reply. Tell me two more things.
    1. Where is this IAC valve located?
    2. I have recently replaced my Daewoo speedo meter with a speedo meter of some other car (some automatic transmission car). The reason was that the origional one was very dull looking. Anyhow, the new speedo meter is not accurate. Its shows speed much more than actual and also shows the distance more than traveled. It uses sensor to estimate speed and distance traveled. Perhaps the sensor is not working properly. BTW I got it replaced from Arshad Autoelectrician (Chah Sultan). Can you tell me some expert for solving this problem or any other way to get out of this problem?

    Thanx in Advance
