    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    any feedback guys?

Do you guys experience this too? Is it normal that my daewoo car is able to move just by slightly releasing the clutch pedal(AND WITHOUT stepping on the accelerator pedal)??? ...I'm just curious, because on my old toyota it doesn't happen ...hope to hear from you guys.

    Thanks again!

...Can anyone of you guys try it if your daewoo do the same thing? ...my other concern is, if it eats up my gasoline even without stepping on the accelerator pedal?

    ...
i think u dont have RPM meter with ur speedometer , the ideal rpm setting is 800 , ur rpm must be 1000-1200 thats why it is moving without pressing accelator , without rpm meter it is difficult to judge its accurate rpm by driver.

first of all you have to learn how shift Daewoo in reverse gear , coz it is different than other cars(Just Kidding). Every used car (almost 8-10 years old) needs maintananc and regular treatment. Daewoo also needs attention for its maintanance as well as other cars like mehran , khyber , corolla , civic. Parts availibity for daewoos in big cities like karachi, lahore and twin cities is not a problem. Yes is maintanace is costly as compared to 800-1000 cc cars (mehran ,khyber , cultus , alto). its a 1500 cc car and shud be compared with 1300-1600 CC catagery like corolla, civic. No doubt it will also give u comfortable drive like corolla, civic. If you r going to purchase daewoo in 315 K , now it depends how is it previously used. A well maintained car will almost keep u away from mechanics.I recently got overhauled its engine in 20k and khyber's engine overhauling estimate is also 20K. I advice you dont take tension for its maintance and enjoy its cofortable drive with power full engine and chilling AC. its soft type suspension gives comfortable drive specially in long drives. and has big trunk for luggage. i am using daewoo since 2007 and fully satisfied with its performance.

    regards

I've heard so many things about daewoo, k is k spare parts ka bara masla hai, is ki maintenance bohat mehngi hai, ye lo *** to rull jao ***, kangaal ho jao ***, bla bla bla,... jtnay moonh utni batain.... Actually the fact is that I just sold my mehran for 330,000 few days back just due to it's maintenance expnse and uncomfort drive and small size. The major issue was it's maintenance. Now that I am an ACCA student, doing a full time Job, don't have that much time for car maintenance on every weekend, I cann't afford an expense car, Should I buy daewoo? I could not find khyber in this range of 330,000 that's why I am left with this Single option of daewoo.

Now Please tell me what is the truth being neutral, I know You all love daewoo, but Please let me know about it's pros and Cons, as I have no idea about this car, I ahve not even drove Daewoo ever. Can I afford this Car ? keeping in view my ACCA and that I was fed Up with maintenance of a suzuki car??
how much Daewoo is expensive as compared to a Suzuki khyber or mehran?

Looking for your advice as You all know almost about each nut and bolt of daewoo...

    Finally I've Bought One.....

You are correct my friend, I don't have RPM meter

...so I guess this is fine and no major problem then? Or do you think I should have it adjusted by a mechanic?

    Thanks again.

yah its not a major problem , u can get fixed it by good cng mechanic , he will adjust ur IAC valve and engine idle speed (rpm) , if u do not use AC than u shud keep ur RPM Low as possible for better CNG consumption , i think 700-800 is good rpm level.

reshaping Tawa means that kharadia has applied leather on it or it is something else?
I done the same job with my previous ride but after it braking was almost half as compare to the earlier condition.

Wobbling means brakiing faces jerks or viberations etc????????

I had the same prob. the best word to describe this problem with tawa is from punjabi i.e. "Dienga". whenever I applied breaks, i felt vibration in break paddle as well as in steering. Kharadia reshaped the tawa for me. It means he used his CNC machine to put it back in shape by cutting it from both sides. this reduces the width of tawa but what ever is left is straight and smooth from both sides.

I felt no impact of this on the breaking of my car but got rid of annoying vibrations. My disk pads were brand new though. If after cutting, ones break plate or tawa becomes too thin and also if the pads are pretty much used out too, it might cause decrease in breaking. I dont know if this was the case with you or not.

    @Testdriver and asad:

last year i changed my battery due to starting problem. This time i again feel heavy sulf in morning but car starts easily. As winter is in startng phase and heavy winter is yet to come.

I asked mechanic to open and check the sulf but he did not agree and said that no need to open it, its fine.

I still doubt on sulf becasue almost 1.5 year back its carbon was changed by non daewoo mechanic.

What do you think is there any thing else to check????

    DFC is dead since 03.10.2010.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
