    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

Daewoo is tiger of long routes . Having said that, if you maintain your car in good condition, it won't let you down. The people who are scaring you by saying that this car is not reliable, did they ever have any chance to even sit in it? Can you ask anyone of them do they find any EFi engine mechanic for any other car on long routes?

Regarding the computer, I have seen just few malfunctioning daewoo ECMs. There is only one drawback in the placement of ECM though, the radio antenna hole is just above the ECM housing, and if you have some leakage in the hole and/or antenna it self, water can enter the ECM.

thanks for the suggestions well what about if we wrap the ECm in a plastic shoping bag for more care let the hole completely closed with silicon is it works main thing is to save the ECM other wise it never gets out of order.

You can make a custom ECM cover or install one like in the below post (though it is installed for Corolla):

How much a locally made is costing? Which brand/make? If you are referring to the one you pasted before, it is basically a copy cat of original one (Sticker changed). I think that should also work!

At last i bought new sanden compressor 507 model of Rs 6K last year and since then its working fine. Even in this season no service was required with the Grace of Allah.

testdriver has also installed the sanden compressor in his car. Sanden exerts very less load on engine as comapre to its genuine compressor.

Some also recommend kabli one but i opted for new one.

Dear Shah73 how much price of new sandan 507 compressor now a days.
Can you give me contact number in where you purchase new compressor last year.

lemme remind u that daewoo actually came in pakistan in yellow cab scheme, dat means it was meant to travel on long routes, still u can find a lot of daewooZ at airports these cars run from karachi to khyber to drop passesngers, I have personally seen daewooZ in the far flung areas like swat, dir, malakand and even in gilgit, pick up the newspaper and u ll see that after toyota honda and suzuki most of the ads will be of daewoo even more than hyundai, nissan and mitsubishi!!

and yes testdriver is right, once u get out of big cities u won't find a mechanic for Corolla even!!
