    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

Guys, i am really worried about CNG Consumption of my daewoo in local running. It usually gives 100km around for Rs. 500-600 cng.
I have changed 4 tip bosch plugs, new air filter. engine is in very good condition. Got it tuned/serviced from Tahir G-8

Can any one please share the tips, measures to increase cng consumption in local, on long run its gives 160-170km around on full tank. Petrol consumption also seems on higher end.

    Regards

    @zawalayat

Bro as far as my experience is concerned with regards to plugs 4 tips plug are not very useful. Better to get single tip oem recommended plugs.

Or if you have finances then go for iridium tip plugs with matching heat range. You'll feel result interms of economy, power and longliveability.

    Just my two cents. Regards

I had also the same problem of consumption but now my car gives 190 to 200km around for Rs. 650-700 CNG in normal GT road route and it gives more than 220km in motorway. I have replaces plug wires, Ignition Coil (this is a common problem in Daewoo which i think nobody will tell you, Ignition Coil sometimes wasted the current, you can check it in night), and of-course your radiator FAN should not be direct because it will cause engine to not run in optimum temperature, so it decreases engine performance. Hope it will works.

    Thanks brother for your input:
I have tried a lot but i am not getting good average on CNG even with out AC in past days. Previously i get installed thermostat volve but as wether becomes little warmer, vehicle started heatup issue in my trip to central punjab and i removed it.
Now fan is direct, vehicle running fine but consumption of CNG & Petrol is high in local running.... It gives 100-110 KMs in full tank that is i think 55KG. whereas on long run it gives 160-170km around.
My question is where i can checked Plug wires, Current coil because just on assumption i am not convinced to change it.
Any further tips/possibility to improve consumption or any good mechanics to consult with. I usually visit Tahir G-8, he oftenly told that in local it normally give 110-120km in full tank.
    Expert opinions are welcome.....

Thanks dear for your comments. I believe in that if you approach mechanics with bare mind they will snatch your even clothes. Your knowledge about the drive is essential for safe and economical drive of the car. We are so lucky that we share each other experiences on this forum. There is a need for an active participation of every member of this forum.

Secondly can i see your repaired bumpers? as I have also same problem of my bumpers. I cannot find the new bumpers from RWP/ISB.

i forgot to tell that in my last trip to isb....as i mentioned the head needed to be changed and the pistons as well as they were broken as well.....MR Athar said whenever the CAM gets broken one should get the head changed fast....i guess after my car overhaul its the 4th time that the head has been changed and also the 4th time CAM was changed.....the car is running ok.....and it all costed me 20000 apart from the trip which i took just for my car checkup.....
i ve almost tried every mechanic in lahore and now i ve no idea whom to try next.....hopefully not soon....and now i think i shouldnot ve gotten my ride overhauled as it was just reducing oil but was running very fine...and all the big problems started after its overhauling....
the other day some guy said instead of doing all that i should ve gotten the engine changed and now come to think of that i too think i should ve done that coz in the long run..the amount i spent on this engine is way more then the price in which i could ve gotten a very good engine....
Alas every one learns from their experiences...
Last but not the least...if some one has any idea of good daewoo mechanic in lahore...do let me know...beside ramzan, murtaza or arif...thx....

sorry 4 late reply actually i experienced that woo bumpers front n rear are so strong with GOLLAS on it then any new or old cars available these days.

i ve almost tried every mechanic in lahore and now i ve no idea whom to try next.....hopefully not soon....and now i think i shouldnot ve gotten my ride overhauled as it was just reducing oil but was running very fine...and all the big problems started after its overhauling....
the other day some guy said instead of doing all that i should ve gotten the engine changed and now come to think of that i too think i should ve done that coz in the long run..the amount i spent on this engine is way more then the price in which i could ve gotten a very good engine....
Alas every one learns from their experiences...
Last but not the least...if some one has any idea of good daewoo mechanic in lahore...do let me know...beside ramzan, murtaza or arif...thx....

Any one knows about the contact of a reasonable poshish maker in rwp/isb?
Ashfaq Poshish Maker, 03005118575 in front of Jahangir Resturant, kashmir Road Saddar, Rawalpindi. Breakup of cost are as follows:-
    1. Fabric Rs. 2400 (i bought it from Babu Muhallah with my own choice)
    2. Labour Rs. 2500 (Ashfaq's Charges)

He made stitched the cover with seats that is little bit costly than simple covering the seats.
