    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

Check the links for my rides
    1. Before 2008 (Racer)

    2. After Jan 2008 (Cielo)
    Daewoo Cielo

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

thanks sir will take it to those guys asap. the other thing is that do those alignment guys will check arc gap? or i have to do it? what do thay call it in urdu? is there a standard measurement of daewoo?
i personally think that there might b a problem, where a front round bush is fitted with chimta, think that body shell is misaligned from its correct place where lower arm is fitted so the car goes to one side, what would be total gap in cm or inches between two front body shell where the front two chimtas are fitted?
will take it this sun and ll update thanks alot

I don't have the exact measurement, but it should be equal on both sides. For reference, see the attached image.

These reading shows that the engine was probably cold started. Is that right? Secondly you mentioned that you took these readings on mechanic's ECM and not yours, how can we judge that your previous ECM was good or bad? You should have taken these reading from your ECM for the sake of comparison.

    Exam question ...... !

Actually, the injector has separate wiring than the fuel pump. One pin of injector takes +12V via a fuse (Red wire) from ignition switch while the other pin takes pulses from ECM (Blue wire). The fuel pump grip also has two pins, one pin takes +12V from the fuel pump relay (Blue wire) while the other pin is takes earth (Black wire). For disabling the petrol supply during CNG operation, we need power cut off on both the fuel pump and fuel injector. The blue wire of fuel pump and red wire of fuel injector should be attached to the petrol wire of the switch. It is recommended that a relay be installed instead of direct connection to avoid any damage to the CNG switch as well as loss of current to fuel pump and injector!

no the engine wasnt cold at that time...i had driven all the way to mechanic n apart for a few mins wsitch off it was on all the time.....ur right i should have taken the reading but after using this new ecm i dont find any difference. the auto fan still doesnt run n water starts boiling even before the needle reaches half..n the rpm still get raised on cold engine n hot one n one thing more which i observed...the fuse which was used to run the fan on slow mode was melted. the mechanic said the fan is taking load...the last resort left for me is to change the wiring of fuse box n ecm...but the electrician say the wiring is ok. but i have tried all possible solution n this is the only one left as per my opinion some wire in the electrical circuit is either short or not conducting proper electricity leading to this state of car being ok at time n bad at other.

Keeping in view the readings, it is quite sure that either the coolant sensor is faulty or the attached grip is faulty. To check whether the problem is with the sensor or it's grip, slightly move the grip sideways while the problem you are experiencing, has appeared. If the problem vanishes, ask your electrician to address the wiring and/or grip issue.

For the fan problem, first of all check whether the ignition switch is heating up while the fan operates. Secondly ask you electrician to install a separate main fuse for the radiator fan, as usually the genuine thimbles installed for the fuse gets carbon deposits due to fan load, causing the fuse to melt by partial connection.

Bad fuel shouldn't emit white smoke. If the smoke is visible only at cold start up, it is usually valve problem otherwise there could be problem with the head gasket having minor crossed oil line into the cylinder.

Open the filling plug with either # 17 spanner or # 13 spanner, fill the oil until it becomes slightly visible inside the plug hole. Put the filling plug back and remove again. The oil should be touching the bottom of plug!
