    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

If you can get your hands on something like GM dexcool coolant - then clean out all the cooling system including heater and expansion tank, install coolant and distilled water mixture. it will work for about 100,000 kms without question and will never cause any rusting either.

If you cannot find dexcool - then any modern long life coolant can work too.

this picture shows the internals of a GM truck radiator using dexcool - The finny thing inside is the transmission cooler.

flush it out and fill with caltex orange type, (flush means actual flush involving rust removal with citric acid). Make sure the thermostat valve is in place and make double sure to burp the system - you can drill a hole at the very top of the thermostat's base plate to quicken air removal.

    korean refeb compressor ?
    never heard of it ....
if its new and fully functional go for it probably u will not need new seals for it

the new compressor is not new
these are old imported units more then 15 years old
they require new seals and bad part is all of ur compressor will be opened ...
go for korean if its really korean refreshed......( i seriously doubt it ,my guess its kabli with new seal and polished or colored)
otherwise spend cash on new ......

opening and packing the compressor back up is not that hard on these units if you have the entire O ring kit and the tool to push the seal onto the shaft.

Compressors are rebuilt this way every day globally.

I got installed daewoo original a/c compressor from Tahir, G-8. He overhauled the unit. Its his second year and is working fine but an a/c signal switch has expired(usually expire after some time) that create a bit rpm problem and i lost the function of a/c tripping on hard acceleration.
