    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

    1. Before 2008 (Racer)

    2. After Jan 2008 (Cielo)

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

How to check the 2nd option?
    Thankx for reply.

First of all DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR IN POOR BRAKING CONDITION. Secondly, before going any further, get all the brake lines as well as master cylinder checked for any torn/leaked parts. Regardless of the pedal being hard, the brake should properly engage (requiring much power from the driver). Once everything is made in proper order, and the pedal is still hard, then you can check for the valve that is inline with the vacuum pipe going from intake manifold to brake servo.

Rear axle tube and front hubs with speed sensor, EBD module, wiring and controller. For proper working, you need a proper Electrician-Mechanic combination. Consult Khalid (Friends Autos I-9) for further details.

    Default Throttling ignition timing

Dear testdriver and all, Salam, During scanning I think i found abnormal values of spark advance when throttling. Though ignition timing appear retarded even then should btdc go down to zero and isn't the spark advance values appear lagging.? Help in finding the fault. thanks

How is the engine/car behaving from 800-1900 RPM? The spark advance should not go below 8 degrees at idle when the timing is set to ideal settings

Engine hesitates within this band of rpm. Idle rpm is set around 1000 to compensate for a/c operation as a/c switch is faulty. Clearly in snap-2, btdc has come down to zero and its just at the throttle moment. what can be the reason/s. values for rest of the sensors were linear/polynomial. I couldn't check cts values change upon throttling.

RPM limiter. On flooring the accelerator pedal, the engine rpm is stuck at some maximum point for engine protection.

Mr. Test Driver, i am facing a problem with my daewoo . i have changed the piston rings and installed new head with genuine valves and all the parts related to the head few years back and it clocked around 140000km with an fuel economy of 12 in urban, and 15 on long routes.but after installing new head on idle rpm its engine wobbles( if you listen it to the muffler it sounded like zoooooo dhuk dhuk zooooooooooooooo ) i mean for some interval it has a missing on idle, otherwise it was ok no problem on higher rpm. now i have once again changed the rings and valve. kharadia who did the job told me that your head seats are fine and i have polished the valve edges and the seats to meet the surface evenly.now every thing is fine except the little missing on idle. the same dhuk dhuk and little wobble in engine at idle. my machanic says it will be fine after some carbon deposits collected around the valves. what is your opinion.

As mentioned by your mechanic, the valves will take some time to properly seal the seats. If the problem does not get resolve with time, get the hydraulic lashes checked for any problem.
