    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

I have placed new iac valve as I was facing the same issue as Kamando. But in my case the car injector was faulty as well so I changed the injector n valve ... the electrician installed the valve into TBI and then switched on the ignition... the rpms went high n then we're normal... the car ran normal ... but after few hours when the engine reached its optimum temp the car rpms started going high n would not come down .... what could be the problem ????should I reinstall it ... or what?

Try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the batter for about 10 mins and check the connectors if they are properly inserted. Do a little spray of WD40 in the female connector of your IAC Valve.

While your doing that. Also loosen the 3 earth connections under the hood. 1 is near the battery negative terminal attached to the body. 1 is behind the timing belt cover near the top of the head. That is where most of the sensor's negative connections are. The last one is attached to the gear box near the VSS. This should be a thick wire joined directly from the battery. Remover to put wd40 on the connections and if rust/carbon is there clean it with sand paper and then tighten then.

In most cases bad grounding lead to mis calculated values from sensors which in turn does not make the car run properly and you run into replacing the sensors where as the problem is not the sensors but intermittent in the wiring.

    Hope this helps.

The interior of the car is not in a good shape I want to install new dashboard along with other interior things, where should I go for the interior
Guidance also required for the exterior work like bonnet bumpers lights etc.

Dear welcome 786, the car might be OK for the previous owner but I am not satisfied, muft may Bhai aaj kal koi bukhar bhi nahi daita,
Coming back to the issue, the reason I came to this forum was that we have lot of Daewoo experts here and they can be very much helpful for the person like me which do not have a sufficient knowledge about Daewoo car.

Well. I think everyone wants to know why you bought a car in that bad condition but none the less you must have your reasons. Please share the price you bought it in. If you got it very cheap then i suggest you go to Khalid in I-9 as the work that you are wanting is kind of a full body plus mechanical overall. Khaild has upgraded about 2-3 daewoo to Nexia shape with new front and back lights bumpers. Issue with khalid is he is charging alot of money for the upgrade and also his delivery time is very slow. If you really want to put that much money in that car then go for nexia upgrade as it is really a nice shape. But this all depends on if you got the car in a cheap deal. Cause the things you are wanting done may cost you around 1.5 - 2 Lacs.

Even with original engine and same old shape you are looking at above 1.5 lac expense.

I will be giving the car to Tahir in G8 now, and hope he does a better job, and is not that expensive.

Another thing I want to ask is that there is a plate to be inserting between the rim and the hub, when the rim size is 15. Could you please explain what that is, and where in Islamabad can I get one from? My rim is 15in with PCD 100, 195/55.

    Thanks.
    Any suggestions?

Compression test equipment is available with Tahir (G-8), btw any good workshop should have it. Any valve above 145 psi is considered good for Daewoo engine.

Did you go to Tahir for checking the heat-up/pressure issue? Secondly the adapter plate you are referring to, is used to adjust the rim center bore to the hub in hub centric setups. These are custom made by lathe machinist. There is one lathe shop in Sultan k Khoo adjacent to the pully (opposite to cha cja lahori shop)

Yes, he said everything was fine. But I still made him turn the fan to slow mode (high mode when it reaches half), and the fan along with thermostat valve makes the needle go just over top of white part.
Regarding the movement of the car to the left on deceleration, Tahir finally diagnosed it to the rear tube. After changing that, the car has great grip, and it not moving left or right. I mean who would have thought that the rear would have such impact
