    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

    I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

    I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

    Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    Do you expect anyone to tell you not to keep your daewoo in an official daewoo fan club? Ofcourse, keep it man. Its the best deal you would have got in the money you paid to get a power packed sedan. Go through the entire forum and you'll start loving your car based on how everyone loves their daewoo on this forum.

    good day! sir, i've already performed adjustments on the black potentiometer w/ the yellow cap that you had illustrated from your previous reply, and my car did'nt gave any response. the black smoke is still present. any other remedies for that matter? sir, are the cielo door sidings is just a bolt on job for the racer? is there any alterations? i'm planning to change my door panels like the one you had in your car. it's a great car of yours!

    reliable in terms of? Do ask your friends how this car is unreliable!

    @mayford

    If it is possible for you, arrange another Daewoo and try replacing sensors of your car with that one by one, you can locate the problem!

    As far as Cielo doors + interior is concerned, they are just bolt-on. Thanks for appreciation.

    2. There is a mysterious radiator leak... when its hot i do hear a hiss sound in silence .. the radiator has 2-3 spots of magic epoxy one way is to replace the radiator with a kabli one.. some say the tanks are available.. plz advise.

    3. The CNG kit has green spots need a gasket... seems like the 13yr old kit is giving up.. PORTATA 140HP is the kit.. i belive no spares will be available for that.. kia karun

    WAS,

    1. Contact @03005151627 (Mr. Zaheer). His shop is in Fire Brigade adjacent to Alignment shop. He is a bit costly but finishing is nice.

    2. Better purchase a new radiator from Rajput Autos Gawalmandi (5530443) for around Rs.7000/=

    3. Replace the CNG regulator with Landi Renzo as all other companies have parts availability problem. For price check contact @ 03015511942 (Suleman Shahji I-10)

    To improve the night visibility and as suggested, I want to install fog lights in my daewoo GTI (gray daewoo below). I am going to go to Sultan ka koh probably to look for them. But I have zero experience with foglights, so it would help if you could share some info on what to look for. I'd probably want to install HIDs (or high power normal bulbs) in them. Are all fog lights capable of handling HIDs/bulbs both or do i need to ask for a special model.
    Also, any idea which car's fog light would fit my daewoo GTI. i dont have a front pic available of my car and hence attaching another googled image to have better visibility of the bumper.

    I think Liana's fog lights will fit into your car. If not, take your car to a car decoration shop and ask them to check which fog light will fit better.

    @shaan

    Thanks bro!

    @shadowrider

    1. Please consult Page 3 for contacts.

    2. Daewoo's engine performance is not that bad. If your car has CNG and the problem is only on CNG, it needs settings and if the same problem persists on petrol too then get it checked by a reliable expert. Also get the clutch setup checked-up.

    h2@shadowrider/h2

    Your limited speed is due to poor CNG setting but if vehicle has same issues on Petrol then it can be due to following:

    1. Clutch plate is weak(99% probability)

    2. Engine is weak i.e consumes oil more than 1/2 a quarter in a week driving(within 100km of driving)

    3. Oil/Oil filter of automatic transmission requires replacement or transmission is permanently damaged due to rough usage by non-technical drivers

    Get the vehicle checked by a professional mechanic and if its the clutch plate and as per his experience it can last for few more 1000 of kms then get your driving practice completed before replacing as during the learning procedure vehicle mechanical parts suffer lot of stress resulting in their wear and tear before time.

    Daewoo has a high engine noise level and sounds like diesel engine as it is has a `Throttle Body Injection(TBI)` system when vehicle is idle/standing still but if the vehicle creates more sound comparatively to other daewoo`s then it can be due to following:

    1. Direct Radiator Fan(Automatic fan cooling system deactivated)

    2. Worn generator bearings.

    3. A/C Clutch plate dry or worn.

    4.Generator/Compressor/Timing belt loose

    High noise of vehicle when vehicle is moving:

    1. Wheel bearing`s ,any of the four wheels, worn.

    2. Gear box `garari` noise due to rough usage.

    3. Front Disc pads worn

    4. Front brake system requires service

    Furthermore I will advice you to refrain from fast driving as you are a new driver and your reflexes for emergencies are not that quick as of a professional driver. Also controlling a badly maintained vehicle requires more skill then a excellently maintained vehicle.
