    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

    I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

    I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

    Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    @ shadowrider
    i think that high pitch noise is just a loose belt.
    if the noise stops after a while, then it must be the belt.
    try 2 adjust all belts then start it again, if it still make sounds
    replace them w/ new ones. im not an expert but i had already encountered that problem on my racer, and just solved them by replacing belts on aircon and alternators/generator.
    bro! wait also for testdriver's suggestions.

    @shan

    welcome back dude

    I have few questions for Daewoo gurus, dudes I am sick/hopless of these problems with my daewoo racer(1,44,xxx kms done rings put in and thinking abt to throw the engine for twin-cam 16v), anyways:

    1. the brake discs need regular tooling (discs surface tooled by khradiya...i 've got it done 2+ times), if I dont get the tooling done, whenever u depress the paddle above 80km/hr it feels as if car has ABS brakes, the steering shakes alongwith badly....Faqeer Mohmd @ Daewoo Pt says "it happens when hot discs touch water and metal is defaced"....do u ppl(da experts) face this issue...?,please advice a solution.. /li
    2. and the damn squeaky-songs of alternator greet you when start the engine and creates such a ruckus that you feel ashamed....mechanic tells "its due to pulleys/belt being dry...so keep spraying WD-40 periodically"..i dont believe this, it due to alternator which is not the daewoo's original asit was smoked/fried.....but i have heard these 'raags'(sounds) from other woos that have a geniune /li
    3. and the gear shift lever feels too hard as if shifted without the clutch being depressed/li
    4. coolant mysteriously disappers within two weeks no visible leaks, pipes checked, head gasket ok tell me solution except changing the radiater as i know it wont leak a pint/li

    awaiting a thorough reply

    let me share with you my experience of tooling of discs by kharadia. my previous car had some brake problem. i was advised same. and believe me the brakes never ever returned to normal again. i discussed this thing recently with central motors person(as i was advised this again for my daewoo. and i was reluctant) he said that there is special machine for tooling the discs- available in gualmandi only- that grinds the both surfaces eqally. ordinary kharad machines cannot achieve this. i tend to agree with him. (how ever i have no planes for my daewoo)

    water disappearance was also a problem for me. mech. told me that it gaskit problem- the initial stage. so i had it checked and there was problem. so had it changed. now its in follow up period. not in a position to confirm if my problem is solved or not.

    i touched 170 on CNG on motorway easily, i have sealed engine in my 93 daewoo , wat about ur engine condition, is it still sealed and geniune or reconditioned, coz 150-160 speed for Daewoo on CNG is not a problem.

    1. I think you replied to my questions....thankyou for sharing your opinion. About getting them tooled requires a precise machine maybe there is one in G-10/4 because he takes two good hours of your time.?*

    ?*

    2. I resolved the DISCs issue by getting the Brand New Discs Set for 3600Rs0..as life is precious and I am a real rash-driver.... and I for careful inspection brought old discs home and boy they are exhausted.

    Doctor sahab how is your car's engine working?

    @javaid35

    1. how the hydraulics (tapets) are serviced while overhauling the engine??

    A: The head will be opened and hydraulic lifters will be removed. If they are in good shape, just washing with petrol will be sufficient. If they are worn-out, they needs to be replaced.

    2. if the bore was on standard but has deeper pits when pistons are taken out then does then increasing the size of bore should be preferred or placing a new entire sleve is workable??

    A: Sleeves are not recommended in the long run, better get it bored. If possible make

    it

    bored according to 1.6 Specs(increase bore from 76.5mm to 79mm) and put Optra's rings and pistons)

    3. wats the price of following engine items:-
    a. genuine ring set
    b. genuine piston set
    c. main baigons
    d. valve set

    A: Please refer to https://www.pakwheels.com/forumreply_az_TopicID!24322~ForumID!28~page!3~pw.h tml for contacts.

    guru gee. engine going good. but still got problem with water level. had it checked. they think is radiator. some minor leakage. cannot be detected as yet. so employing wait and see policy. and of course carring bottle of water policy too. yesterday had the AC checked. replaced low pressure switch and filled gas. working fine. but then Allah has also opened is vent too.
