    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

Check the links for my rides
    1. Before 2008 (Racer)
    Daewoo Racer
    2. After Jan 2008 (Cielo)
    Daewoo Cielo

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

it's not important that you have a ride, important is how you drive it...

Seems like electric issue. Check the following:

NOTE: Before replacing check if water has entered in the identified faulty areas, DRY them first and give them another try. If it start working, then fine otherwise replace

    1. Remove the main coil wire (the wire coming from Main coil to distributor) and try starting the engine. If no spark is generated from coil, it could be due to following reasons:

    a. The main coil current wires have some problem, tighten the harness in place and try again

    b. the 'Module' has become faulty. Check if the wiring harnesses are properly inserted into the distributor. If the problem still exist, 'Module' alongwith the pickup coil needs to be dried/replaced (Module costs around Rs.1200 kabli and pickup coil around Rs.800 New)

    2. If step-1 went OK, put back the main coil wire and now remove the spark plug wires individually, insert a screwdriver in it and place it close to engine's earth (DO NOT MAKE IT TOUCH ENGINE GROUND). Now crank the engine again to see any spark being generated. Using the same technique for all the four plug wires. Check the following:

    a. If spark is present in atleast one wire, the other wires have been short circuited.

    b. If spark is not there, following are possible reasons:

    i) The main coil distributor wire is faulty. Complete plug-wire set will cost around Rs.950 (New)

ii) The 'Router' is faulty and costs around Rs.500 (New)

iii) The Distributor Cap is faulty. Distributor cap costs around Rs.650 (New)

The worst cases has been described above but the problem could even be a disconnected wire.

If the above 2 steps went well and there is no electric issue at all, the exhaust needs to be inspected if water has been filled in. In that case try pushing your car towards slope so that water can evacuate from exhaust.

    ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM
    i have a daewoo racer 97.
i m suffering from some problems and need every one to suggest specialy test driver.
    1. front left shock absorber is not working and while braking from speed of 80km/h it give jerks very badly . Mr.Ather at central autos told me to change both front shocks and it will resolve the problem . what did u say?
    2. while going at the speed of 50km/h or above it sounds very badly at gives vibrations when holding steering from top and gradual strong vibrations at pedals and the sound is like GHuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnn and after driving for 10 mins it gives me headache. i think it is some kind of piston problem or tapids. or may b because of alignment. what r ur opinions?
    3. front right axile is to b replaced how much it cost. central autos is giving it for 3800 with lobour new one and from cha sultan 2000 without labour kabli one.
and shocks at central autos costs 4200 with labour new and at cha sultan he changing kits for 1500 .dont know what kit may b da gaskits for air tightning inside da shocks. what should i go for?

    4. and one wierd problem every month it needs gas adjustment for missing , sulf and consumption problems.
how this can b permanently solved.

    waiting for ur replies.

thanks , bro i didnt installed that green color lighty dial myself , its already installed by previous owner of my ride. you can get it from any car decoration shop , its like a plastic paper as u seen commonly on different rides on their windscreen near back mirror , wording like
MASHALLA , ALLAH O AKBAR, BISMILLAH etc, it can easily adjust on your orginal meter dial.

Thanks for the reply ... but it was started the very next morning without doing anything ... started on the first self ... may be it was the bad day for me to go out ... earlier that morning my bike didn't respond and later my woo did the same ... but the next day it was started like nothing happened and the bike also ... I was shocked as it never happened before my bike is half self start and woo takes 2 - 3 selfs but then thought may be it was from ALLAH SIGN not to go out in that rain.
Well All thanks to ALLAH and you guys.
