    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    Rs.450/- CNG=~8.9KG

105Km/8.9Kg=11.8Km/Kg is not a good average, it should be around 14Km/Kg in local.

As far as petrol consumption is concerned, donot rely on the fuel guage readings. For more realisitc calculations you have to top-up the tank, travel for a distance and then re-top-up the tank and do the maths. If it is somewhere below 12Km/L, there is some problem.

I purchased complete door with panels under the lump-sum parts package. The panels are usually expansive if sold separately. For latest price quote refer to Page-3 of this forum.

    Thanks.

I am new to daewoo, and I got the car checked up by this guy at Daewoo Point near Mari Gas in G-10. He tunned it up, changed the plugs and the cables etc, but still the average is not good.

Should I refer to Daewoo Plus or Central.

    Rs.450/- CNG=~8.9KG

105Km/8.9Kg=11.8Km/Kg is not a good average, it should be around 14Km/Kg in local.

    [/quote]

    @TestDriver

Afterr some tunning up and change of spark plugs, the car is now giving me around 14km/kg in local on CNG.

But on petrol it is giving me less than 12 KM/L. The mechanic told me that since the car is tunned up and setup for otimum performance on CNG therefore the petrol average is not good. He says that if I need to run on petrol any time then I should remove the bush (air stopper) from the air filter and the average then would be fine. He says that the car will not give me good average on both CNG and Petrol at the same time.

Please advice if he is right.

    Thanks

    my experience about milage

got daewoo on petrol only and with AC it does 9.5 to max 10 km/l local driven. milage also depends upon how you drive and where you drive. so if your car does 12km/l than you are lucky. i suppose.

and one more thing. its guage needle for petrol is not to be trusted. my car does about 150 km when the needle on red zone.

    @ testdriver and all

hope you are fine. i am getting problem with the brakes. rather an annoying problem. when i bought the car had the servo changed to corolla's. but the braking remained the same. turned out that servo was faulty so had it changed. brakes improved but one tyre (left rear) always get jamed before the others and produce screeching sound. if i apply brake(not very sudden nor very slow) at say 50 km/h same thing happens. shown it to all mechanics. all they do is clean and readjust the brakes. but after day or two problem starts again. changed shoes, changed seal of cylender (i think that's what is called) but the problem remains. i have a feeling that problem is somewhere more distal. probably pressure distribution is not correct. any idea what to do?

    @ KASHMIR
I think the problem is in brake piston which is not releasing the pressure of that wheel or may be the master cylinder is faulty.

    AlhamdoLillah i am fine.

As far as the brake problem is concerned, needs to be physically checked to identify the problem. Most probably the rear left wheel brake line is connected to the front distribution valve causing the wheel to stop before other wheels (Front wheels gets more brake pressure than rear wheels). This problem usually occurs when the alterations are improperly done to the brake system. Corolla's brake system is straigth oriented rather than crossed/diagonal (of Daewoo).

Crank Shaft is the main shaft of engine, one one side, it drives pulleys while on the otherside it is connected to flywheel.

It usually break due to imbalance of pressure or excessive knock.

Yes, it can be replaced, but you have to replace all the engine bearings (Main & Begin(Rod bearings)) to match the new crank whether new or old.

    Testdriver:
Belated Eid Mubarak to you and all others brothers.

Issue is about Fuel gauge. I feel as gauge normally remians downward (in the city) instead of the sufficient quantity in the fuel tank. While on long drives it usually gives correct reading.
Why is it so? same problem was with my baleno as well but i did'nt get it diagnosed.
    What do you suggest?

    Hi,

Anyone know that either civic or corolla shock springs (I want lowering springs) are compatible with daewoo racer. I dont want to cut the springs as it decreases handling and grip.

Hoping a fast reply specially from adnan bhai (test driver).

    Regards.
