i Had a very rough evening with my UNO yesterday. It was missing badly and was giving vlue smoke at cold starts. we opened the timing as i told befire and advanced it a little thinking that its at fault but car gave excessive noise.
Yesterday we opened the diesel pump as we had the replacement with us
here is the old pump
And here is the new one taken out from the engine we bought
Before that we got the nozlles caliberated a few days ago as per standard pressure of 140.
Even after replacing the pump, the missing was still there so we bolted the old pump back.
At that moment we checked all possible areas from where it can get air inside the fuel system but were not able to find any problem. Time was 10 pm
Old pump was bolted with the old electric plunger. My friend Amin thought of putting on the original FIAT plunger from the new pump. When we opened the old plunger, it was all dirty from inside with clear marks of centuries old dust accumulations
When we bolted the new FIAT own plunger, the car started nehaving normaly. Time was 11:45 pm
In the morning, it started with a bang without any excessive or blue smoke. No missing or anything. Timing also got right yesterday. It was one heck of an evening, full of expereinces. Now we can open and close the pump, nozzles and timimg of UNO in 2 hours easily
I was not able to take many pictures as my hands were black all the time
