intense cold in islamabad these days.. -2 at night... for 3 days my pug was also parked out in the open.. and i went out at 3 in the morning to see the frozen dew on the car... and it really looked the same as saqib bhai,s uno...

when i started the car after 2 days of being parked int he open.. .it did start as it normally does.. with single heater and immidiate start.. but the engine was like... ooh.. leave me alone... leave me alone... you shudnt have cranked me...lol..

talking abt compression ratio's the pug has a compression ratio of 23.0:1

Even in this condition the babe started at first heater. The battery guy told me that the battery is weak when i got itchecked after purchase of the car but i have promised myself that i will squeeze even the last drop of energy from it. SO far it has not let me down even with a misfiring cylider start ups and this frosty winter

    CRAP!!!!

I just had my first mishap with my UNO. On my way back from work, heard funny noises from Gbox. By the time I got home, thrust bearing had snapped, and screwed everything inside the housing.

New clutch + Pressure plates and bearing set will cost me Rs.7000. SHYTE!

    No Cheers!

and it all costs for a charade for rs only 1k infact with labor.

spotted a badly abused uno today, it was with three or four shades of white color. rear shocks were alll down, engine had no sound, again a lady driven UNO. it seems it had gone engine swap and CNG bomb was loaded also.

i have one fiat in my sight for 100k and best to swap engine after current engine says Good Bye :p

The mechanic says my vehicle must of run into deep water sometime. I remember that happening a few months ago in Bhara Kahu, Islamabad.

I guess some muddy water made it into the gbox and the thrust bearing started failing. The thing finally broke sending shards of metal through the housing. The pressure plate teeth are all bent from overheating and have lost tensile strength. This also caused excessive drag on the clutch and that is shod as well.

I guess all that torque does do its job on any part not upto mark, since that would explain the sudden death feeling I got from the gearbox when it happened.

Anyways, should have the car back today, once all is fixed. Parts are from some company named ETF. Original parts are from Vallio or something like that but were not available.

Got the stuff from Lakhvi autos on Montgomery road, Lahore.

    Cheers

    the original parts are from

    " Valeo "

hope that all ends well..and you get the car back..

i think its worth spending 7000 rs on parts like these..for these cars..when you know what the car does for you..

The starter motor is towards the front of the engine, if I remember correctly. That could be the case.

But it sits quite high and I believe the water rushed against the engine and probably made its way in. I have asked the mechanic to double check all is well sealed, except for the breather hole atop the bellhousing.

Other than this mishap, the car has been phenomenal uptil now, and all praise from me!

    Cheers.
