Get a s-class brother, will cost you less and they are more in number here. Just a suggestion.

If you are afraid of the electronics breaking down (which they will most likely, eg the amp failure in the 7 series) get an Lexus LS400/460 (depending on what your price range is) if you can find it in Pakistan. Has a lot of the things you will find in the german cars with a lot more reliability. Love the 2007-2012 versions!

Vehicles like BMW and Mercedes are good status symbols but they are not a sensible choice especially in countries like Pakistan..go for a Lexus LS400/460...it is very reliable and well built like any BMW..plus you can get a JDM at a good deal..German stuff when breaks down is too expensive to fix..

German cars are beautiful to look at and fun to drive. Reliability for recent Bimmers and Mercs (post 2000s) is very good too.

German cars have everything going for them, except parts availability and prices in Pakistan.

Lexus is a Toyota by design with extra sensors and luxuries added on top. For that reason, the Japanese luxury makes (Lexus, Infiniti and Acura) can't touch Germans. This difference is evident from a single drive and look under the hood.

But, for Pakistan the main issue remains parts. So be wise and choose accordingly.

Germans are good at making complicated technical stuff but with the auto industry they are just hitting the limit..I dont think one needs a vehicle soo expensive and complicated to maintian that it feels like owning an aircraft.

Especially in a country like Pakistan where there is no real outlet to utilize these super luxry vehicles..

I can only say a German is the one of best cars you can own, sure it's not cheap to fix, but if you know the right dealers, you can get parts for 2 or 3 times less the money this mechanic showed. This is a European car, meant for the European roads, it's meant to be driven on good clean roads. Finally, let's not forget that, this "over engineering" of Mercedes and BMWs is the reason why we have ABS, Airbags, heated seats, i8. No one is not a fan of complicated cars, but it's the future of automotive industry, if you want something cheap and reliable, you can always get a wagon like this with horses.

ABS, Airbag, Cruise control are pretty much a standard now a days in automotive.
I dont think Pakistan is a suitable market for German vehicle..we like to keep it KISS!

And "we" got ABS, Airbags, Cruise control and oh yes RFT, as a gift from the sky. Reminds me of Newton and the famous apple. Needless to say the Germans are ahead of most in the innovation game.

They are applying science and research in automobile industry, and bringing new tech to the road all the time.

You may like to keep it KISS, but the industry is moving elsewhere, at a blistering fast pace.

Heck i can't decline my car giving cel for trunk light but i also cannot deny immense pleasure given by my mercedes W211 and 260k kms of service with not so major repairs, but i know if would ask for major repairs the cost for it would exceed the price of car itself.

I never understood when people say dont germans as these are expensive to maintain! that goes for almost every car, sure parts availblity will be an issue where you live!
apart from that from personal ownership experience of BMW(318i, 330CC, X5), AUDI(A4, A6), Mercedes(CLK, E-Class, A-Class) (though i would rate merc third in reliability) they only need normal service a year plus any wear and tear to brake pads and disks. all can be done at good garage or by yourself if you are fine with it.

I dont buy brand new cars because of depreciation of first 2 years are almost 40% so buy only a few years used cars these all served me well, didnt give my any major trouble. I do yearly service at their dealership to keep the service history sake, rest i do myself or any indy.
If you know what you buying then it helps as buying blindly may just be a lottery! A good maintained car will give you reliable drive and pleasure.
