as I said - the cluster is also part of of bus network, it talks to the ECU and TCU, the ESP is also tied into the party, this is done to hold a shift and/or reduce engine power (MB actually reduce engine power softly rather than the japanese way of cutting fuel or spark)

He said it even had ESP .....how is that possible with a vehicle which previously had no TC or maybe ASR....how did he manage to convert it to ESP????

MB manual transmissions are pretty horrible in feel and throw compared to their automatics which as mentioned above are fantastic. i have driven a few modern MB with manual and they seemed pretty bad especially as i felt twisted behind the steering wheel, the pedals were off set to the right while the steering wheel seemed to much left.

you have found a worn out M103 engine??

    where is this unicorn?

btw - weak throttle response is not engine issue, the fuel system needs to be top notch (K-Jet is a royal B&%ch to sort out). The other thing is that the transmission behind that engine will always be a 2nd gear start (the car will feel really lazy)

    Not found.
A friend has this car. Just got to know that mileage is not genuine so my bad on that. Rest, let a mechanic diagnose the engine properly and give his feedback.

    Regards,

    Regards,
M103 is very stout, unless it was run cold all the time I doubt its worn out. Also test it on first gear start.

at a stop foot on brake, shift all the way down then back to D and go full throttle - the car will be in first gear, if you gingerly ease the throttle with lever in D shifted from P - the car will always start in 2nd gear (it was a feature to smooth the power delivery and prevent wheelspin)

If you are facing oil burn issues - then the most probable cause is worn valve guide seals (common on this engine at high miles) - this engine will also blow its headgasket at high miles due to the dissimilar metal sandwich between the head n block (its not very expensive either - just find a good technician/mechanic to repair it right, seal the upper timing cover with hylomar and use a socket to prestretch the cam oil seal first.

use caltex delo gold oil in this engine - its proven to be the best for me.

A mechanic said it needs a good tune up and it will all be fine.
I used Liqui moly engine flush and then liqui moly mos2 10w40 6L.

It's auto tyranny. Should I try it?

Btw checked the spark plug. It all oily.

dont use these plugs - this engine only responds correctly to NGK BP6ES plugs, regular copper plugs with no resistor in them. Use a dab of silicone grease on the plug caps.

btw - I dont see any oil on the plugs - can you point it out for me?

you dont need any flushing agent either, good old caltex Delo gold 15w40 is good, if you really want amazing cleaning power then use the synthetic version of delo.

make sure to use good oil filter and wet it before installing on the engine.
