The one in video is 2L and full of options as its M sports package. On lower displacement levels we don't get all those exterior and interior features.. like for example the automatic adjustment headlights

Yes.. but it gets nasty when we pay more and still don't get everything..

By the way BMW require minimum AKI 89 which translates to minimum 93 Octane.. for gasoline engines.

So in 4 million you don't get leather seats as well as no smart entry system. It's a very basic model. Add options and we are talking about 6 million.. Even cruise control is option..

No auto transmission no cruise control. You have to pay more if you want comfort drive.

well for audi a3 in pakistan you also have to pay extra for cruise control and even rain sensor and armrest and this at least comes with that and audi also doesnt come with leather which is optional extra but fake leather type upholstery over which I would prefer cloth. and audi makes you pay 250,000rs just for cruise control a armrest and rain sensor in a function package if I recall.

for a crossover its pretty reasonably priced and you can compare it with the local honda HRV directly and despite being german its still more or less better equipped and advanced. but i despair FWD BMWs, rear wheel or X drive is where BMW is best at and true to their DNA. this seems like a bad lovechild from a marriage with mini.

All German cars in Pakistani get expensive when you add flavour.. First gen X1 was, rear wheel as it was on older 3 series platform. The new one is on Mini..

1.5 has no option for Xdrive I believe... you can opt when you jump to 2L version.

BTW Audi killed 1.8L engine and rumours are even the facelift A3 sedan in Pakistan will arrive with 1.4L TFSI same as in Q3 in Europe.. So A3 base will jump to mid 40's in Pakistan most probably.

To me if I am spending money on brand name, I would go for extra options and features. Will stretch my budget and add some optional items if I can..

X1 is selling like hot cakes around the globe..

yep a 1.4l engine would be welcome as the current 1.2 in this price bracket has the same 0-60 and top speed as the X1 but is smaller and less practical making it a redundant choice, a refresh should fix that, and yes one would either have to add a few options or get a used german car if they want the proper experience given that they can afford the maintenance. but compared to Vezel at least you have warranty and dealership here instead of a grey market car with zero backup even OEM oil and airfilters and seldom found for it.

at least we are getting little more choice and premium cars under the 5.0million bracket though Shahanwaz seems to have established themselves as only catering to the elite with their overpriced hgher end models and no smaller ones like A class and I have hardly seen one or two new GLA by special order.

People are getting distracted by the lack of features which have been provided by Dewan as 'options' - which are never a bad thing. Imagine the scenario where Dewan had just launched this car with auto, leather, cruise control, rear view cam and some other features coming as standard (with no options) and the car was priced at 50 lacs. It's good that Dewan has given consumers choices, some of which are highly recommended. In 46.5 lacs you can get an auto X1 with leather and cruise control. Rest whether you want to take or not depends on how much you want to invest further in your car.

Not much comparison with Vezel, which is after all a Japanese made car and Honda itself is no match for BMW's brand value. German technology and a global auto giant available in Pak in around 5 million is a bargain.

Better to take all recommended and exclusive options to really enjoy this car in almost the same price one pays for Toyota Fortuner. Or if someone wants to enjoy owning a Beamer at a budget, he has the option to buy the basic manual car at 4 million - which is, to put things in perspective, just 10 lacs more than another Turbo engine of the locally assembled Civic X.

Let's add Rs.461,000 for auto transmission and Rs.99,000 for cruise control. Still, it's a better deal in Rs. 4.5 million
