Default Ssangyong Tivoli Discussion Forum - Official

Since many of my fellow pakwheelers here are aware of the fact that new entrants are making their way in Pakistan to offer us some new cars and let us go with the THS culture (Toyota Honda Suzuki), there was this unfortunate automobile manufacturer that entered Pakistan's market to make their place in the country, the brand happens to be South Korea's 4th largest automobile manufacturer, the name was SSANGYONG, that's right guys, the 4th largest automobile manufacturer could not make their place in our hearts, the company offered two of their products in Pakistan back then, the Ssangyong Rexton and the Ssangyong Stavic.
I was going through my newsfeed on facebook yesterday and came to know that the company's making a comeback in Pakistan with an all new car, they'll be coming back with their flagship model, the SSANGYONG TIVOLI. The car has a base price of ?12950 for the base model in UK but we're not sure about it's estimated price in Pakistan due to our country's regulations. However, the specs lf the car are as follows:

    • Efficient 1.6l Petrol / Diesel Engine
    • 6 Speed Manual / Automatic Gearbox
    • Personalised Styling Packs
    • Alloy Wheels Including 18" Diamond Cut
    • Smart Steer System with Three Modes To Match Your Diving Style
    • Dual Zone Climate Control
    • Cruise Control
    • Torque-on-Demand 4x4
    • 7 Airbags for Safety
    • 5 Year Limitless Mileage Warranty

This crossover seems to be giving a tough time to FAW sirius just like FAW X-PV is giving a tough time to our beloved Suzuki Bolan a.k.a Carry Daba. The competition never ends but the question arises that will the company be able to make their name in Pakistan's automobile market? Subscribe to the thread and express your opinions!

Well in my point of view they should first consider to change its name to convince Pakistanis. Q mobiles are selling their cheap handsets with insane prices in pakistan v/s Xiaomi which is much better people have a feeling that it a 3rd class chinnese phone ( name factor)
2nd is If we can import a used honda vezelz for 32+ knowing that you will face parts issue then why not new tivoli for 1.8Million for basic model
3rd we dont want that showoff advertisement of dancing girls around Tivoli. We want some real idea in advertisement of Tivoli. Faw'z quality is pathetic plus their after sale service is not up to the mark. I know they are offering warranty but what if your car shutsdown in northern areas you wouldnt have any plan except bringing the car back to their sale and service centre so Tivoli learn from their mistakes. Faw failed just because of their marketing department. Just visit faw'z Showroom islamabad. You must have some thing extraordinary to change the mindsets of people. Pakistanis think resale factor(on the same price) before buying a car. They dont calculate the maintenance expenditures while purchasing 2nd hand suzuki sshit z, what happend with reborn haha. And those who are saying this thing is ugly and bla bla actually they are missing that apple logo on samsung.

FAW has been successful in their targets, hence now assembling V2 to break even. The 1.0l will be lesser priced but essentially at a 9 lakh price point.

It is more than just mindset now since you see so many 1.2 million to 1.8 million Japanese Hatchbacks on the road. People know that at these price points the hatchbacks they are getting are protecting their family and cars last easily 6-8 years, without any issue at all. While in local cars in 3-5 years you start getting costly problems. Anything over 2 million and majority of this class can afford cars from 3-4 million, hence Tivoli will be stuck in the middle at 2.5.

In any case a dealer told me yesterday that since Ssangyong is offering such a low dealer margin at 2.5, the price for base model will inevitably be raised to 2.9 million. So the dealers who push the product can make profit out of it.

Pricing this thing around 3 million will be a suicide as most of the people who can afford this much amount are surely gonna get civic turbo or vezel.....

I think it is just not fair to compare a Xli/Gli etc with Tivoli... itna zulum na karaina pls Tivoli is a 1.6 crossover SUV, it has cruise control, multimedia steering, aur sub say bari baat 'safety' I think it has 7 airbags.

A small crossover like Suzuki Ignis (i know it is hybrid) sells for around 2m in this country so I think Tivoli will be priced around 3m, if not more.

Yup. Went to the Dewan showroom on friday. They had 2 smaller Tivolis and a bigger one parked in their yard. Asked the salesperson when they will launch - he couldn't tell me but did say that if it is launched, it will be locally assembled.

Bmw x1 priced 4 million so Tivoli must be around 2.5million mark at max.

Pricing like altis and oriel seems reasonable for this car.

Spotted one at Marriott Hotel this afternoon. Emblems were covered. I am not really sure about the color, but, I guess it's two tone. Must say the car looks stunning.
