i think at 5 and 10 million price tag BMW will only be looking at only 5-10% of pakistani ppl. and there avg sales target will be not more than 50-100 sales in whole year.

So who ever got the rights will have to do proper planing rather than buying 500 x3's and X5's and then not able to sell them

I think they should have imported other cars from Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan and VW. Also, why the heck isn't anyone importing/manufacturing good 4WDs here? Jeep Wrangler anyone?

Just thought of something... has anyone seen the ad in DAWN Classified on Sundays for the past 2 months... this person selling his 1992 BMW for 725K... with 'must sell today' line, which ain't working? Shows the demand for Beamers here if u ask me. I think they will fail like the Chevy Exclusive has.

i will say any compny introducing 1000-1500cc cars for under Rs, 500,000.00 made by daewoo, hyundi, mitsu etc can be a real success. because this way they will be targeting 95% of the pakistan.

[Ive posted this in another forum as well]
I think its great! Its about time we have some class in Pakistan. Toyotas and Hondas being luxury cars is fine. They already cost upto 13 Laks. The best thing about this new deal with BMW is that its all official and it will stop this illegal import business and bring in revenue for the country as well.
If someone can afford a BMW, then its good for them. While the rest of us can enjoy the grace and beauty from the sidelines ;-)

Well, hell yeah BMW Pakistan is gonna be sucessful- as long as ardent, hard-nosed wealthy capitalists (such as perhaps myself) continue to order up.

    ...hmmm...as a matter of fact, I'm already considering either going for either a 545i SMG, a new M5 (V-10) or a 760Li- that's some class.

And with Free Trade 2005 coming, thank God all those nasty Suzukis, Corollas and Civics (and other Jap-Crap) that dominates our roads will be on the road to extinction.

    Yes!! Good times ahead everyone!

well i think if WTO is applied there will be 50% rise in sales of cars and i think for pakistani roads and environment only japanese cars will survive because every one knows cars from other manufacturers are not that durable and cheap
