Aoa,
From the topics discussed here and the info from various members.... I have reached to the conclusion that...
Yokos ........... good but prone to sidewall punctures as experienced by many members
Dunlops ........ mostly variants are smuggled and not recommended for our road conditions..... moreover they get real hard after 20K kilometers....... really a hit brand with taxi drivers
Nexen......... some people recommend them highly and some are really against them........ not so sure about them though people that have them acutally installed speak good things about it.... the tyre shop owners are against them for some reason......
Goodyear....... recommended by most people........haven't heard of any solid reason why they should be avoided....... the ones that say goodyear aren't good never come up with any convincing reason.........
Michellin....... expensive but worth every penny
Pirelli.......... nice overall........low tread life........
General.......... well if you can't afford spending much then it's the last choice....... the foreign assembled are not bad by the way
kumho / hankook........ not a bad deal
The most important thing that should be kept in mind is the date of manufacture of the tire....... as mostly very old stocks are kept by the normal vendors......and the date of manufacture is written in the format:
2607 ........ which means 26th week of year 2007........
Disclaimer : These conslusions are based on the opinion of many people and no solid facts and figures so there is a very high probabiliy that many things might be wrong....... just the impression that I compiled after listening to many people..........
And I am also looking for a tyre change in chevrolet exclusive........ the size I have in mind is 165/ 65/ R13 ........ although I have seen that even slightly wider front tyres tend to appear out of the body whereas the rear ones are too inside ........ maybe we should install wider ones at the back then front lol.......
