    @Viper_995

    you need oil change, try shell helix or Havoline but buy only genuine. your speed should be below 60 and under 5.5k rpm then it dosn't matter if you shift gears. try not stay on the same speed over long distance. try to change engine oil every 300km mai ny aise hi change kia tha. and try to follow manual srtictly.

    @viper
    first oil change at 300 and then at 1000 (at the time of 1st tuning)
    normally i change oil at 1200 to 1300km
    well i use caltex havoline frm the caltex pump, its trusted oil according to my experience
    synthetic oils are not recommended during break in period , so u can swith to them after running

    @Viper_995
    Bro I agree with mehawk1. The main objective should be to stay below or equal to 5.5k RPM. I'll tell you how I did the run in of my Piaggio. The results were outstanding. Not saying that this is the best possible way to break in the engine but only telling my experience.
    ==> First 200 kms @ max speed of 40km/h
    ==> 200-500 kms @ max speed of 60km/h (oil change at 300kms)
    ==> 500-800 kms @ max speed of 90km/h (oil change, at 800kms but no tappet adjustment AT ALL)
    ==> 800-1000 kms @ max possible speed that I could get on an open road keeping in mind the safety. (oil change @ 1000kms, tuning, nuts tightened etc)

    All the stages in the run in period, the speed must be kept variating. Do not drive for more than 30-40 minutes without giving a rest to the bike for the first 300 kms.

    I used the technic of short shifting in the first 4 gears and longer top gear. Result was that I was able to get from 80km/h in the 4th gear to 130km/h in the 5th.
    You will have to bear the tappet noise. I know its horrible but whatever you do, dont get the tappets adjusted before the first tuning.

    Hope this will be helpful.

    Also the oil I used was Havoline. I used the 3 litre Big bottle which is used for cars. The 50W one.

    Bro Loveshakeh !
    Who ever said that " they have great after sales customer services " must have been deraming.
    My utmost respect of opinion for the dude that said this thow. No Offence buddy.

    man I belong to Faisalabad. was posted at Islamabad and im currently at Lahore so ill comment based only on these 3 cities n lets assume for a while that they are the only 3 cities in Pakistan.
    Bro I havent seen a Piaggio in ISB yet.
    I saw almost 8 to 10 bikes in Lahore on the roads.
    And I nearly droped dead from the back of my friends Yamaha when I saw 1 Red Piaggio on the road of Faisalabad.

    come on Bro your complaining about Hyderabad n rest of Pakistan these guys are a Rare site even in Lahore.
    I had to visit Thrice to locate all the People linked to Piaggio on Mcload road.
    If I were to ask some one in any part of Lahore away From Mcload Road or any other place where they have their dealers if any which I seriously doubt No one will have a clue of what im talking about.

    So in short they are not even running their product straight in one City leave alone a Province or Country.

    Bro Viper_995.
    Ive done 1025+ Km on my Piaggio now.
    I had my first oil changed on 260 Km.
    My suggested range for Oil cahange is from
    1st Oil Change 250 - 350 Km,
    2nd Oil Change 950 - 1050 Km
    then on every 1000 Km.
    This is Strictly dependant on the Terain you ride on and The way you ride it.
    I belive your driving mode counts a lot more than the Km you ride.
    the Quality of oil used is also a big factor.
    then your the best Judge if your bike needs an Oil change or not if you know the bike and its demand based upon usage better than any one else.

    Personally I like n preffer Caltex Havoline.

    @ Viper_995.

    Personally I preffer Caltex Havoline and I absolutely Dislike ZIC.
    This is a personal opinion based upon merely the look n feel of the Oil.
    I dislike the texture of Zic as it feels more artifical and makes me uncomfortable with the thot of having it run in my engine.
    Id like to ride free tension less.
    I have a habit of checking the texture of oil to be used by taking some of it on my hand n feeling it to judge how it may perform.
    This may not be the right way and is no way acurate n absolute but does give me a feeling of satisfaction along with stained hands

    Additionally I belive Synthetic oils are good in motors that have older engines, those which may heat up at times as synthetic oils are better durable and perform better as they last longer in such extensive conditions.

    Bro I never really noted the RPM needle while riding. At that speed you actually dont have enough time to spend more than a second to look at the speedometer. Cant give you a sure answer. Plus it has been over a year that I sold it. Its long enough to forget for my fragile memory even if i did take a look at it once in a while.

    Bro, need help with the running-in, i have currently done 300km.. wen should i get the first oil change and then the proceeding oil changes,
    2ndly, which oil to use in the Piaggio, i was thinking of Zic synthetic.
    3rdly, im riding under 60km, alternating bw gears upto the 5th gear, under 5.5k rpm, is that good enough, or should i slow down...
    lastly, wots the duration to cover, before i can get the tappets adjusted, as its really irritating?
    Salam, Dear..
    I woul suggest you ZIC-10/40. as i myself yousing it in my Piaggio storm 125. you will feel difference in your ride. I was advised by dealer to change first oil at 500 km. you can extend your oil change limit to 1500km with zic. for tappet first cmplete running, than go for any thing else.
