    @farhansa,
    Indeed scooters are designed for women (in the west) and vespa is no exception. We have our own norms in Pakistan. Our women have to sit incorrectly on the rear seat of a motorcycle leave alone driving one. Similarly the rikshaw was originally designed to transport small parts within factories / industrial units or for postal services at best. In Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia (I am sure the list goes on) these are used as taxis. Very popular in cities with narrow streets.

    BTW, I am looking for a 1962 model vespa seat. with a little bit of alteration, it can fit a classic bike which I intend restoring shortly. Any clues where I could get second hand Vespa parts in RWP / Isb?

    Yes Vespas are made for women but when it was launched in Pakistan, pakistani taras gae k hum he chalaingay.... agar uss waqt Pervez Musharraf hota to yaqeenan Roshan khyaali aur etedal pasandi k naam per khwateen he Vespa Chala rahi hoteen aaj....

    You can find any model VESPA seat in LAhore & Karachi market, because they have no resale nowadays, & some people scrap & sold their old rusty Vespas to scrap yard owners & the scrap yard owners sell the useful parts in a very reasonable price. No idea about Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

    I see,
    Jaldbaazi ka kaam shaitaan ka hota hai,
    My painter asked for a whole week just to get the tank and the side covers painted of my bike but the end result was really impressive.
    Ek has seen it and he knows how it looks.

    I am also thinking to install indicators that came in some later model of this shape...
    A no. of engine parts(that are running) needs to be replaced, I am also searching for it.
    Today I searched for its new foot stand that also holds the rear number plate of it, but I was shocked when I asked the price, the shopkeeper said 2400/-, back in 2004, I bought better than this for Rs:600/-
