Post My Ravi Piaggio Storm 125 - 2012

    Assalamualaikum To All,

Although i had posted a few pics already of my bike, i am starting this thread a bit late after buying ravi piaggio storm 125 just to share the experience.

Previously i owned a Honda Cd 100, Bought Cd 100 in 2006 and kept it for 6 years till 2012, It was an excellent bike and never gave me any kind of trouble for the whole 6 years really went well and even now was in very good genuine condition.

Then after reading many reviews of different bikes on P.W. and looking at different bikes available in the market i went for Ravi Piaggio 125 and bought the bike on Nov 1st 2012. Then sold my Cd 100 to a friend the next week after i bought Piaggio 125.

Here are pics of my bike

    My Ravi Piaggio Storm 125 2012 -1206119

    My Ravi Piaggio Storm 125 2012 -1206120

Some Initial Problems which i had to face.

    1. There where noises from the front wheel bearing at just 200 K.M.
    2. When the bike was just driven 300 K.M. the speedometer cable broke
    3. The tappets adjustment was not good and there was engine noise
    4. Spark Plug quality was not good
    5. Noise was coming from the speedometer

Solutions To the above mentioned Problems.

    1. The front wheel bearings was easily changed by piaggio warranty center under warranty and they are working excellent now
    2. Speedometer cable was also changed under warranty from warranty center and is operating fine now
    3. Tappets they said would be adjusted at 1000 K.M. first service and not to be adjusted before that.
    4. Spark plug would also be changed at 1000 K.M.
    5. The speedometer was touching key hole so they adjusted the speedometer and moved it a bit away from the key hole the noise went away

    Overall Experience

The overall experience of the bike went really well if i had any issue the problem was resolved by the warranty center and any faulty part was easily claimed. Its an excellent bike specially if we see the styling and comfort and there is no bike like Piaggio 125 currently in the Pakistani market and i really enjoy the ride of the bike.

To be frank I'm not much convinced :p these things can't bring any considerable change however can give u a mental satisfaction!

    U see if I ride this bike I'm 96kgs! So the et weight bike's pulling goes to..... . . . !!!!! 230kg?

Now tell me will the "beast" redline? :p

    No offense just playing

Sir gee, I am sure it will, coz me being 86 relatively close to you ...

actually yar major difference is produced due to 17' and iridium and ignition improvement other were cosmetic improvements..,

You have to try it to really see it happening (as we did the experiment), untill I tested it along CG I was also having same point of view as yours, (what I orignally thought was that there will be no change in performance because we are increaseing the tyre width but that got compensated with RIM being Aluminum) ...

still I never said it beats CG but I said it reached the bench mark quick responsiveness just like CG. as i consider CG to be the bench mark accelerator in Pakistani commuters.

defiantly as I have seen the response, but you will have to switch to better ignition coils and plug cable also.. and beside the engine generator must be at least 3phase type if it is you can do this and feel better redlining junoon if it is not relining already with you given weight ratio.

Irrdiums can be purchased from Xtreme Sports Mcloed Road. price is different for Different brands cheapest is 750RS and then price goes up we bought autolight series for 1k same was purchased by han some time back for 1400 so do little hunting, green autos also have it.. makhdoom also have it but I heard makhdoom plugs have issue but not sure.

For sports ignition wire and ignition coil bilal ganj of course...

CG has 3phase, so as deluxe, GS, paiggio all are 3pahse... but not sure about junnooon... simple trick to identify is (as mechnics have been seen doing) there are three AC wires in 3Phase generator where as simple megnettos/stators have only two or may be only one live wire.

yes other wires are from pulsar and neutral switch that's ok... but you can ask an electrician to check it the stator is 3 wired, ask Omer85 he made some wiring with choke and resistors to keep the High power coil separate from bike wiring as this big coil can fry complete bike wiring in mere seconds... so he kept it completely separate from original wiring ...

@omer85 throw some light on the system you showed me in you bike of separate wiring.. is it possible to have this setup in junoon ? will there be any improvement on its performance ?

lolzz ... itna mehnga tu offcourse kabhi nahi ravi walay ligaye ***

but yar scorpian I dont think metro and other local 70 brands are putting that much only on meter, definitely they are getting it only in 10% of price which aami got while grey importing it from abroad...

I am looking at Chinese digital meters prices at Alibaba and made-in-china.com websites the price tag is as low as 18$ without shipping and daily manufacturing is 500pc/day.... just imagine if a local vendor connect to them the price will go more down...
