Cool My New Ravi Piaggio 2014 (New Model)

Hello everyone, yesterday i got my brand new Ravi Piaggio new model at last (awaited a very long time.)

Please i require your expert knowledge on first 1,000 KM as i previously owned a Metro 70CC bike and this is a very new experience for me. Guide me regarding the running and general maintenance for this bike, as it is quite sophisticated as compared to my old bike.

Can i add or should i say ask something? I can't see the weight and fat tyre factor in this discussion? One of the reason could be that sports bikes are heavier in weight and have bigger fat tyres that don't let them manuvor sho easily. Don't go far @vickytulla just see your bike during our trip it wasn't letting us move around easily especially in mountain areas. Even stock RP has more than 20 - 25 kg from our benchmark bike CG. So this is one of the factor IMHO. The new model can help to improve maneuverability but i don't thing it would be more than 10-15%. What do you think?

neodescorpio Brother kindly share your thoughts on its driving position?
how is the driving with new sporty handle is it too low? i mean will a tall person
have difficultly in driving this bike or can it prove uncomfortable for long drives and may cause back pain

@amjad635 it is a little low i guess because of the new handle but because of seating position and foot rest it's slightly leaned forward and it's a good riding position, so far i don't think it can cause back pain. I'm not very tall but i guess i am around 6 feet and this bike suits me, i felt awkward on my 70 but this bike suits me
@angel82 & @vickytulla yaar my bike ain't that much manoeuvrable beacuse of it's huge size as compared to 70 but last night i did some traffic cutting and it was good but i wasn't very fast. i was in 3rd gear i guess and speed was like 25-30. I think the clip ons and footrest position makes me lean forward a little which helps in cutting.

yep!! you make sense but in case of a cruiser this factor is improved if the bike is in cruiser style, I have used that altered Road master also I had a test ride of Maxim which is shaped like GS (I mean retro Cruiser) even its heavy but due to very low seat and handle above stomach it was a very easy to handle it.

    Congrats a lot!
You are the first guy to get a 2014 Ravi piaggio on PWs! Great...

Bike looks awesome, specially the handle bars are nice.

Glad to know about their customer service and how they quickly resolved your problem, I guess you wont be having any complains now...

Ravi piaggio is a niche market, produced in a very limited no. And the buyers are a few of the shoukeen and aware people... there is no interest of Ravi to automate their plant, to import robotic machinery or invest highly in their assembly line because only a hand full of Ravi piaggios are made every week on their plant... all assembled by hand, by tecnitians and chances of human error are always there.

The good thing though is, they are keen to resolve issues.

    For brake-in period:
Keep ur bike max. or below 50km/hr or 5k rpm in the top gear.
Idea is not to put load on the engine.

Change first oil at 300-400kms range
2nd at 1000 and get it free tuned from dealer.
Regular oil changes to be done at 1000kms after that.

Use best oil you can afford, avoid local/korean oils.
I dont recommend kixx, zic, caltex, pso oils to anyone. Even shell is so so... though shell is on top of the list on fortune 100 companies

Shell/ caltex only if you can guarantee they are 100% genuine.. (I have not been able to find any genuine source of these )

I'd highly recommend Liqui moly racing 4t oil, its available in 750Rs here in Lhr. Best, proper oil you can get in Pak.
    *DONT use car oils.*

I also recommend using a good quality wax on ur bike as it has many plastic parts and twice or thrice a month waxing is very good for it.
I recommend Mother's caranauba wax for you. (Approx 1500Rs)

Keep ur tires properly inflated, inflation rate is written on a sticker on your bike's chain cover... most probably its 22psi front, 28psi rear for single riding. With pillion it is 26 front, 32 rear. Consult your owners manual. Check air pressure every week and your bike would never get punctured, tire's life and braking would drastically improve.

DONT FALL FOR PUNCTURE WALAS TELLING YOU AIR PRESSURE TOU 45-50psi HOTA HA G 125 KA...

I personally use tire shops where there's a digital air pressure machine, other wise despite of you telling them to fill 32 they'd fill 42... coz they think they know all and are super genius.

Good luck... drive safe, use these rear view mirrors and invest in a quality helmet like Studds.

Thanks bro for your time and such precise info, i'm maintaining nearly all these things except tires and was confused on oil , my plan was to goto Metro ISB and purchase caltex from there. or many people recommended Liqui Moly, these were my options. I am maintaining 40-50 km speed with RPM around 4. It's tapet sound is very annoying , waiting for the first tuning so that i can get rid of this annoying sound.

can someone confirm this tapet sound ? the service center guy said it will produce this sound until tuning when he'll tighten the tapets. Did you guys also experienced this sound ?
