    Mehmood brother, dont know much about the future of 150cc bikes in Pakistan but there is a big vacume when it comes to 200cc bikes.
    People rebuild old CD-200s and CD-185s as they cannot afford to buy 250cc sports bike which costs about 4 lacs after duties if imported Brand New.

    We need a 200cc Bike (no problem if it has only a single cylinder) at around 1 lac or maybe a little more, i ll be happy to buy 1 with a "Big Brand's Label and Quality" at 1 to 1.25 lacs.

    agree with @c123pk, however, will add that something similar to Bajaj Pulsar or Yamaha R15 (both 150cc) will sell for about 1.25 lacs easily and there is no competition in that range as far as style and features go. Suzuki GS150 just has a 150cc engine, nothing else to be proud of.

    @tazzix, have you rode the gs-150 ? i was about to buy 1 but when i had a ride of it, i said No, Thank you Sir
    Honda 125 is far better.
    Between people like You and Me, many many others who just love bikes are waiting for a 200cc bike, the shouqeen ones If they import some bike in limited number that too in CKD to save the cost price, i think it will sell, not like 125 or 150 but it definetely would sell !

    @c123pk, I had ridden a Gs150 as a pillion, I got my learners bike license today, last time I had a license in Karachi which I discarded after the disappointment of bad 70cc's flooding Akbar Road. And true I could not afford 400k for a bike. Even now I wont spend more than 200k for a good 200cc bike plus safety gear.

    @mamehmood:
    1. Safety, as in good brakes, dual caliper front and single caliper rear, integrated braking or ABS will be a plus.

    2. Style, it should stand apart not look like all the other bikes

    3. Controls, meter, windshield: Storm looks good but a clock is missing and LCD can be used instead for some dynamic displays for more info in less space. Or atleast make the meters optitron, these ones are useless at night and gear indicator is useless in day.

    4. RIMS c'mon how much would alloys cost? give us an option like pay this much extra and get alloys pre-fitted.

    5. Gear shift: why is the shifter designed to use the heel? the front is so small that toes can not be used to "down-shift" in your case, make it bigger so somebody wanting to use the front only can ride your bike or make a changeable option.

    @mamehmood: now I understand the price will be high, but look at the indian options and their prices converted to Pak Rs. and then compare. And if you are thinking along these lines, let me know and I'll skip Storm for a better option, even if it means waiting 3-4 months.

    Hi all, I have been visiting PW forums for quite some time now, finally decided to get registered n be part of the disscussion, now coming to the topic

    dear mamahmood u have said earlier that "I dont knw y pakistanis seem to like old bikes" for this brother I would suggest U to ride a 1980's CG125 in good condition, its sheer power plus its light weight (a cheeta bike as I use to call it) but guys we have to keep in mind that this world is subject to change nothing remains same for ever, so if some one is a fan of old CG125 then I would suggest him to get one rather then comparing new bikes with it...

    now abt features of a 200cc, well there should engine similar to a Honda 250cc Hawk as it requires low maintainance and also have good mileage,carb should be japanese or atleast japan based technology use to manfacture it (chinese carbs sucks),there should be front as well rear disc brakes,suspension should have standerds of japanese off raod bike (uknow road conditions in pakistan)

    it must say its a good initiative to take the opinion of those who are going to ride the bike before manufacturin it

    @mamehmood but if you are thinking of selling a 200cc bike for more than 200k then you should scrape the idea, that is not going to sell. A similar bike to one in india going for 70k indian rupees would still go for about 150k because it will be the only choice in its category. Which is double the price of storm so with all the features I mentioned should be achievable in my opinion.

    I am all set to place an order for Storm-125, except that I need to buy safety equipment and gear, anybody please advise me a good place in Islamabad or Pindi for this kind of stuff, Taiwanese helmet (range 5 to 8k), leathers, knee/elbow guards, boots, gloves, etc.

    Detailed discussions are required on 150cc Vs 200cc pls keep in mind our domestic market conditions, economic situations, fuel prices, and market share of specific product
    following areas need to be kept in mind as well.

    1- Strength
    2- Weaknesses
    3- Oppurtunities
    4- Threats

    @mamehmood:

    a. with fuel injected system there won't be much fuel consumption difference between 150cc and 200cc

    b. The only 3S supported bike more than 125cc is GS150, and as you see the price difference between GS125 and GS150 I can bet very few GS125 would have been sold because not much advantage compared to CG125 in the 125cc category

    c. All the bikes in Pakistan look the same, Storm-125 is going to be the only distinct looking bike to the common eye.

    d. A couple of less HP would not hurt but a week braking system can. The Pulsar has very strong braking where new owners have to learn to use them carefully.

    e. The speed limits in Pakistan vary from 45 kmph to 120 kmph, but no legal place to ride above 100 kmph (bikes not allowed on the motorway) You do not want your official product to become another Kawasaki GTO175 which was at one time got banned in Karachi when the police bikes could not chase it.

    f. Yamaha has a YZF-R125 and Honda has a CBR125 so you see that there is much to be done even in the 125cc category, Storm is not the limit but only a good start.

    A technical and marketing guy should go to a EU country or India or at least China and ride a few advanced bikes from 100cc to 250cc pay attention to the specs, specially power, torque, brakes, controls, dash, lights, etc. Then conduct a survey through these survey organizations. Chose a couple of products and import a similar product and take them to Dawn's Lifestyle exhibition you will get a good idea which one will sell and how many for how much.

    @justfarooq

    thnaks for comments,

    ist of all i would like to confirm that suspension looks more or less like Honda Delux 125 and better in performance than Delux.

    Front disc brake is very much effictive single caliber disc brake which provides effictive breaking not sudden breaking for unknown rider who is not use to the disc brake already.

    its sound is 99% as like as CG125

    i hope i answered ur questions

    Sorry I've not been following this topic but I assume you're affiliated with Piaggio. I heard about this bike in another thread. But isn't there a website? A google didn't get me any results. I suggest you put up one.
