    Default Daihatsu Mira fan club

I am seeing a LOT of this car on the roads these days. Seems like it is becoming very popular among the people in its class (660 cc?). I did not see a club for it, so I have made it here (mods, if this is a repeat, please delete).

So folks who own a Mira, please post pictures and tell us what you think about this car, how much did you buy it for, what fuel economy it gives you and how you rate it.

I myself am not a Mira owner, however am very curious about this one.

    Cheers!

Sorry for the late reply. I installed 155/65/13. They are hard to find in a good brand and I do not recommend installing them. A couple of healthy adults at the back and you will have those cringe worthy moments where your car touches the speed bumps and you can't help it.

So today went to cvt oil change. Opened the drain bolt then the chamber. Whole oil drained, took out filter. Cleaned filter and chamber with petrol then fitted back after applying thin layer of silicon. Put a complete 4 liter tin of toyota cvtf tc. The manual says full capacity is 5.7l. But after filling 4 litres the dip stick shows level more than H mark even with the cold car. Car is running fine without any check light or any problem. So shoul i drain some oil to level it on the stick? Whats the proper procedure to check cvt fluid level? Have any one else changed CVT fluied and how much was filled? Thnx.

Who changed the oil and why did he open the chamber? Just open the drain bolt and let the oil drain out, measure the quantity that came out and put the same quantity back in. Simple. Why complicate things. And the guy who did the change should have checked the oil level on the dip stick before changing the oil. Now there's no way of telling how much oil came out and how much needed to be put in.

Now the right thing to do is to follow the dipstick and drain the excess oil.

I have changed the CVT oil recently. Mechanic first opened the drain bolt and drain out the oil. Then he opened the chamber and washed and cleaned the chamber cap and oil filter. after all that he placed the filter and sealed the chamber by applying the gasket sealant. and poured the CVT oil and measure it by reading dipstick. He poured 3.5 liters oil (almost that much oil was drained out).

I would be happy with CVT doing 17kmpl, especially in the first fill up.

Everything has its associated cost. I have read CVT is supposed to be very efficient but I have never found my CVT Mira nearly as efficient or powerful as my brother's older manual Mira.

S and B are useful when you are driving in a hilly area.

S is used while going uphill when u need more power
B is to be used while descending (when you need engine braking)

I read somewhere that "S" is useful when your car move (applying acceleration) and stop (applying break and stop the car) frequently.

It certainly is confusing. I think the oil level should be between notch 1 and 2 when cold and between notch 2 and 3 when hot. But I'm not sure.
