Default Our new ride 2012 Daihatsu Mira ES

So we set out to actually buy a Toyota Passo and we came across a new type of Mira in town, at first we thought it was just another Mira variation but after searching it online we came to know more about the car. It's an extremely fuel efficient eco car whose sole purpose is delivering the 30 kpl it's website claims. We immediately set out to search for the car and due to our search parameters ( Only a G grade model) and the fact that there were limited number of the car available in the market, locating the car became an arduous task. Finally, alhumdulilah we found a car in what seemed like an offer too real to be true and immediately bought it.

Although there are many fuel saving features in the car, here are the main ones:
    1. Idle stop system ( the car shuts off the engine at stops).
    2. Regenerative braking ( the car charges it's battery while braking so that at stops it uses battery charge to power the ac and sound system while the engine is off).
    3. Increased engine compression from 10.5 to 11.3.

These are regular features of the car:
    1. ABS with EBD and 4 Airbags ( Dual front airbags and two side airbags for driver and front passenger).
    2. Traction control with Vehicle stability control.
    3. Leather wrapped steering wheel.
    4. Automatic climate control.
    5. Smart entry key with the engine start button.
And the rest are the usual power accessories usually found in standard 660cc JDM cars such as power windows, power side mirrors with retract option etc. Mind you the above stated features are only available in the G grade Mira ES, the ones of the lower trim level are missing these features and the smart entry system is optional on all trims.

    Please say Masha Allah.

The thing about driving this car is that one should realize the purpose of this car, it is not meant to be driven quick and it will give you bad consumption under hard acceleration, for instance when I drove this car under hard acceleration the car gave me as low as 12 km/l but while driving with a feather weight touch, my car went as high as 31 km/l.

Lol, believe what you want, this is what I achieved and the 30 km/l stated is not the max consumption. The car can go a bit more further.

bro i don't believe your petrol average story as i myself have a jdm 660 cc car and i had bought it just because of the stupid stories related to petrol consumption but if anyone thinks sensibly the engine is too small for the car and the passengers inside it, the engine is at high rpm almost all the time and thus burns hell of fuel! the max believable average on these 660 cc cars is 15kmpl but 31kmpl???? cmoon bro even a prius doesn't do that!

Bro, not all 660cc jdm cars are the same and this one has been especially designed to achieve this fuel consumption and believe me you have to drive it patiently to get good km/l otherwise you will be stuck with 12 per litre or even 11. Also don't compare prius with this, prius is a 1.8 litre 4 cyl atkinson cycle mated with an electric motor, a kei car has a tiny 660cc 3 cyl. Again I am not forcing you to believe this, you have the right to believe what you want. But you may want to see this: ??????????40Km/L?????Part1???1????? - YouTube

so you mean that you have to drive it at 40kmph to attain the average of 31kmpl???
and please calculate the average by filling the tank till top, driving it till the tank is half empty and then filling it to the top again
then divide the num of kms u drove with the litres of petrol you had to fill and then post the average here

brother is the high compression engine prone to knocking?
