Default Honda Vezel vs Honda HRV

Honda Atlas just launched the HRV cross over with a price tag of 3.6 m PKR.
Let us compare both these Hondas to help people decide bw them.
As far as i know the Vezel is the better choice here having the Hybrid badge & 8 Airbags for safety alongwith the DOHC Honda Earthdreams engine and that too with a lesser price tag.
Why would someone stil opt for the HRV? just because it has a two year warranty ?
I reckon Honda atlas is yet again making the same mistake as it did with the CRZ.
Who knows they might slash the price ( in a while) after a poor response from the local customer.
Suggestions & comparisons from our Pakwheels community are needed to help everyone who decides to spend his money on either of these two vehicles.

We shud all buy Tata Nani sorry Nano
    &
    Suzuki Meharbaan sorry Mehran
    &
When an accident with a stray passing cow on GT ROAD twists its frame and disassembles the whole front giving u some injuries or a fracture GOD FORBID,
Since u dont have single airbag
    &
When ALLAAH blesses us with enough money to buy a White Xli, the favourite car for thieves
    &
then get it stolen on a friends wedding from the parking lot
    Bcz it doesnt have immobilizer
    &
then consider a Civic to find out it does 9 kmpl in city with AC

Now u have a huge whole in ur pocket and want to buy a fuel efficient jdm with 8 airbags and immobilizer

Namely a Prius or a Vezel

It doesnt get stolen like a motorbike and actually prevents injuries with airbags

Since Honda Atlas have introduced the HRV here i reckon Vezel owners wont be having any difficulty finding a filter or any such thing for the Vezel. So, thats another plus for the Vezel i guess

Wow very constructive discussion and feed back. I just came to know that we can have Zero Meter Vezels imported at this Price which is a major plus against the HRV. Both are similar versions so no issues with the spares, Zero meter will last for few years before the wear tear starts.
So I will explore the Vezel Zero Meter option.
They do not have AWD in Vezel ????

Idk what and when was ur last experience with accord...
Each and everything of JDM cars is available. Firstly used JDM car dealers usually provide help with after sale services of these cars, they will run their office boys for you to hunt parts.. you dont need to try it. They know markets, they know where to source which parts from. Air/oil filters/ disc pads is a joke.. easily available.

In lahore Bilal Gunj is the hub of JDM cars and scrap mkt. You can get anything from bilal gunj, also now almost anything is available from Dubai brand new you just gotta order n pay before hand it arrives within days.

What do you think several hundred of car dealers in every city selling JDMs are doing? Do u really think all JDMs runing on the roads have mehran/cultus or alto fuel filters?

In fact ur opinion is based on lack of experience and lack of connections. Industry at whole cannot be blamed, you should rather say that u were not able to have a good experience with ur given exposure level.

What is ur guess? How does antique cars get restored in pk? How does old BMs, Mercs, Audis work? What ebt Ferraris, Lambos, Hummers, GM cars imported every year? Do they all sit in scrap yards by the year end? Its not true my friend...

You can source any sort of part within Pakistan or from Dubai as per ur requirement and specification within a few days. May it be the most awkward part of all... I am not saying that the experience would be smooth in all cases, but at least for Normal wear n tear parts.. it is no issue at all.

Sorry if it sounds harsh, but this general mind set is not healthy at all. Its no good that people want to stay stuck with Local low quality, high priced cars.

PS. these are not grey imports.. they are imported after paying complete taxes and are registered with all documents.
+ Good luck with dealership experiences!! They are not bound for anything, by any means.. . You can just pray for luck & having a smooth experience. Local dealerships are also no better than changing engine oil, filters and brake shoes.

AWD version is also made in Japan but i dont think anyone has importedit here as yet, you will have to contact a dealer and ask him to book the specific AWD model from auction. You will pay for the Car once the car is bought on auction and will have to wait till it gets here, usually takes 6-7weeks.

AWD Vezel is not meant to be an off roader, you are better off with the front wheel drive version. AWD versions are just to provide more traction in snowy areas. they have nothing to do with off roading.

Companies have to buy pkdms as a rule

They cant buy gray imports even if they r 0 meter

    They will buy
Camry non hybrid for 1.1 crore

Not a jdm hybrid 0 meter for .8 crore

So there is always a minimum sale threshold

Says who? I would prefer a awd car compared to its 2wd counter part as grip, handling and drive pleasure of awd something a corolla buyer with mind set of "jitna soft utna acha suspension" won't understand
P.s I am not targetting any corolla buyer please take it easy

Have u driven awd cars? i have driven many awd cars and including Mitsu Evo 8 but trust me its not comfort as fwd cars also fuel consumption is slightly higher and it wont be fast as fwd (except mitsu Evo) as its more heavier than FWD....the only advantage is better handling, grip and also quick launch but we dont get snow or rain everyday. AWD cars have less resale value

Just called up various Honda Dealers in Karachi to check availability of HR-V. Apparently there is a 3 -4 months waiting period against an advance payment of Rs.500,000/=

The vehicle will be imported from Thailand against the order. According to them, the initial inventory Honda Paki imported is all gone. No vehicles available is stock anywhere. Can anyone confirm that from another city?

    Major bummer.

Mate, why dont you go for Vezel ?
