Default It's Ignis time, AlhamdoLillah :)

Presenting "Ignis Hybrid" by Suzuki Japan!

Assalam-o-Alaikum fellow PW's. AlhamdoLillah bought Suzuki Ignis Hybrid from Japan last month. By the Grace of Almighty, 1st Ignis Hybrid of Pakistan cleared from Karachi customs today and Insha Allah should reach Lahore in next 3-4 days Needless to say, I had to do a lot of survey and research before finally being convinced that it was the best option to go for in 1.8-2.2 Million range category. Pictures are from the auction house. Any questions regarding the car, feel free to ask and I shall try to address as per my best knowledge and ability. Main specs are:

Suzuki Ignis, MX Hybrid trim with 1.242L Dual Jet Engine and Mild Hybrid System
Transmission: CVT (option of 7 speed paddle shifters in MZ trim)
Push start, Multimedia leather steering, Cruise control (MZ)
    Climate control and 4 Airbags
    Magic seats
    Front LED lights (MZ )
Smart key entry system with Immobilizer
Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill start assist
Total Horsepower 92 (Engine + Motor) , Vehicle weight only 880 Kg so great weight to power ratio
Its SA grade , 1300 km driven, 2016 March manufactured

Its IGNIS time AlhamdoLillah -1703408Its IGNIS time AlhamdoLillah -1703409

    Design

    Sub-Compact Crossover

Concept? After its debut at Geneva and Tokyo Motor shows last year as a concept, itssales started in Japan on February 18th, 2016

Dimensions (Vezel comparison) ? Almost 2 feet shorter than Vezel Hybrid in Length but almost same Width, Height and Ground clearance as Vezel

Engine ? 1242cc DOHC Intake and Exhaust VVT, Suzuki?s Dual Jet Technology coupled with Suzuki?s SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System). Mileage figures for MX, MZ trim 28.0 kmpl as per Japan testing cycle. 0-100 km/h: 10.8 sec

    Features

    1. SHVS ? Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki Japan is categorized into mild hybrid system category (for reference Honda?s previous IMA in Insight, Civic and previous gen. Fit are most familiar examples of mild hybrid system). This system differs from Full hybrids in the sense that they are unable to run on EV mode alone, primarily there is Motor assist (in engine restart as well as acceleration), Regenerative Braking and Idle Stop functionalities achieved with the help of a separate Li-Ion Battery. Motor assist is achieved by a modern Integrated Starter Generator (Motor). For details please see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SswlsyuXb4

    2. Available trims ? MG, MX and MZ. (MZ has front LED lights, Paddle shifters and Cruise Control) All trims have the option of adding safety package and other manufacturer options.

    3. Trunk space - Plenty of trunk space for this category vehicle

    4. Complete list of features are here ???? HYBRID MZ ???? | ???

Thanks yes brother choices are subjective hence variety and treat for enthusiasts Aqua is no doubt a solid vehicle and proven tech by toyota but main deterrents for me were poor ground clearance and average exterior (subjective). More so I was getting inclined towards Fit Gp5 but again a hatchback with not good clearance for our conditions in this bracket didn't convince me personally. A crossover gives you many benefits over a hatchback. Cheers

Well trend is of course dependent upon public response. Vezel is an outstanding machine hence got accepted. I just try to anticipate and take initiative being a hybrid crossover in this category with all these features Insha Allah Ignis will find its Base here hopefully

    Salam,

you chose a beautiful colour, but may i know if there is an option to select the interior trim colour as the orange trim totally looks out of the way, perhaps a gloss black wrap may look even sexier.

on top of that could you please tell us if this is a cruise control variant or does cruise comes in ignis at all.

i am totally digging for ignis as it is pretty similar to juke minus hybrid system.

there hasnt been much hybrids by suzuki nor tested so exciting to see it on pakistani roads.

is it pronounced IG-NIS or I-NIS?

Interior colour combinations vary according to exterior colour but can't choose or change.
Cruise control is there in mz only.

    Pronounced as ig nis

Jazak Allah Asad bro. Yes AlhamdoLillah. obviously you know the wraps were only due to the fact that it wasn't clear if Customs Karachi will declare this as a hybrid or not. And that meant a duty difference of PKT 735000. So yes it was a huge risk but I did whatever homework I could and once I was convinced then took a chance. Thank Allah, no problem of any sort arised in Karachi

Excellent vehicle one of my personal favourites and you'll see in my detailed review later Insha Allah what all alternate options I considered before making the final call. To answer yours, if I was getting as a personal vehicle I could've gone with swift sports but considering this is gonna be my primary family vehicle, Ignis just made way more sense. Also since I like to travel up north too there again crossover takes the lead for me. But excellent option you mentioned nonetheless
