    Default Presence of Mark X

A few months back when I visited Pak, I saw Mark X for the very fist time of my life. And offcourse I liked it too. But it was stunned when a cousine of mine who had bought a Mark X 300G, insisted me to drive his Mark X. what a performance man. For reaching 100 from 0 it took just about 5-6 sec. I really appriciate this car. But I am wondering why this great car of toyota does not have significant presence in international markets. I never saw it here in dubai, never in Uk. Neither I think it is offered for sale in USA. What is the logic behind. Though I do not own any high performance vehicle here in dubai but I have driven a variety of really cool vehicles including Lexus ES350, Mustang GT. But driving that mark-X was really an unforgettable experience

Don't know about ur query but same was my feeling when i drove mark x for the first time. 0-100 in a blink of an eye, suddenly a motocycle came in front, felt the awesome braking and road grip. It's really a very very nice car. Gives you a heavy feeling while driving it (Y)

I personally didn't like MarkX's drive...IMHO toyota has not been able to eliminate the griplessness issue from even the best of its vehicles.

    @bango:

I absoultely disagree with you. I found Mark-x's grip really equivalent to some of really admired stable vehicles. Infact all the features, accessories and performance of Mark X makes me beliving that this superb toyota is a re-badged Lexus. There were just a few differences between 09 Lexus ES350 and 07 Mark X.

    Sorry but that is incorrect.

The Lexus equivalent of the Mark-X is the IS350

You are right, there should be no comparison between Lexus ES350 and Mark X. Mark X can be compared with Lexus IS, BMW 3 Series, MB C Class. But the thing which I was saying is that E350 even felt me so similar to a car ( Mark X) which is not its rival.

I haven't driven the Mark-X so I am not in a position to question what you said

However coming to your original question:
There have always been more cars offered in the Japan Market, plus they add many features there.

I agree with you bro to some extent. But as long as my queiry relates, I am wondering why toyota didnt introduce such beautifully made vehicle to international market. Even Camry and other models offered by toyota in most countries as TOP LINE models are less capable (in many aspects,e.g.peformance,luxury) then Mark x

Okay now your question is more clear to me(or maybe I now read it properly).
Integrating the Mark-X in to the market like the US for example would add a car which is the same as the IS350.

Now, that would be a mistake(in my mind at least) as the market would have to choose between two different cars that are almost identical and from the same manufacturer. My guess is that would decrease the sales of one specific model, and certainly any company does not want decreased sales.

Car companies generally introduce cars to fill a gap in a specific segment/class of vehicle, right now I don't see a place for the Mark-X OR A luxury RWD sedan.

Coming to the second part of your question about the features added.I can't fully answer that but I assume features in cars depend on the market.
Take the example of Pakistan: Most of the people care about the resale of a car rather than the safety features offered, that is the reason why you see the crap build quality and safety features of cars offered in Pakistan.

Now you might know that older BMW's did not have cup holders(I have read this somewhere, can't recall), but due to the US market they had to cater to the requirements of the people and implemented them.

Features offered depend on the competition and the demand of the people.

    I hope I answered(to some extent) your question Presence of Mark X - 1

camry and aurion both are FWD cars, and to be really honest, the latter one is just crap... As for supra, it too has/had its own traction/stability issues, plus its almost obsolete now..
What have you been grateful for today..?

I am not sure about the model difference. I havent felt anything wrong in any of those cars after almost any midranged honda or bmw. And to be very honest, mark x itself is a very good stable car. Altis also is not on the bad side.

Camry and Aurion is at same platform (i.e both has same 3.5L engine) Aurion has different shape and it is built for racing and also available as a trd modified.

See was that so hard to do?

Although I disagree with the fact that the Aurion was built for "Racing".

P.S. I know you like toyota/lexus (pretty clear from all the replies you make in threads) but that does not mean that you present your fanboism right in the face of others( I can give a reference but that is not the point)
I can bet you wouldn't be able to tell that I'm a "die hard" Honda fan, but being one does not give me the right to flaunt my fanboism in every thread.

I hope you take my suggestion in a positive way because it is certainly intended to be just that i.e positive.

the mark X (amongst other toyota models) isn't sold in many markets for some reason,.. nto sure why bu ti guess that toyota feels that they'd be stepping on their own feet with such a car. afterall who in their right midn woudl buy a lexus IS when you can have a better specc'd car for less from the same manufacturer?

personally i think the mark X (old shape) was one of the best toyotas made, and the new one is a joke. sometimes manufacturers make a car which is just so perfect that making a new one is next to impossible.

    examples are:

    Puegoet 205 GTi
    Honda NSX
    Lancia Delta Integrale
    etc.

I know many of you may not knwo these cars, and thos who do might hate me for putting the mark X in the smae class but my intentions are NOT to show that the mark X is a legend, just that the replacement is not as good as the original (as with the cases of the cars above)
