Smile Toyota Estima Lucida Timing belt change

Its been a year that we bought this minivan and were not sure if odometer is showing genuine mileage (problem with grey imports). To get peace of mind and be sure that it doesnt give up on me suddenly and hand over a heft overhaul bill. we opened it up for a timing belt change, which is a task in its own since the engine is mounted sideways under the front seats. It has turbo and an intercooler as well bringing in lot of piping going here and there.

Started off by taking the seats out. Taking off the carpet and engine covers.

For auto transmissions mechanics have their own methods. Usualy some wood block is stuck on the pulley teeth and other side is stuck somewhere else in engine bay at a strong point.

    Very desi but it works

EGR blanking is done when there is a doubt that EGR is malfunctioning. Some forum discussion point out that it helps with acceleration and better economy but i found hardly any difference after that maybe because the valve was working fine previously.
