    about draining everything - you can use the oil cooler lines to flush the transmission completely. thats why I love the mercedes design - they have a drain on their torque convertor - open it up and you have more fluid in it than you had drained from the pan.

    Filter is new. I was away while they did that. Pan had 3 magnets, not present at time of taking oicture though.

    About Oil cooler, this car has a small contraption (like oil coolers on toyota and nissan diesels) bolted to transmission for this purpose, lines for water reach the transmission rather then oil getting circulated through lower radiator tank. Opening the whole thing for oil drain was not advised by toyota people.

    good, but its pretty easy to dismount the fluid lines and flush fluid from there, It requires some "other" tools which they must not be having at that time.

    I beleive they went shy of the transmission temperature sensor installation at same place within that cooling unit.

    Have a question to ask? The other day I took my 2.0D for 40k service to Toyota among other things I also got the Power Steering Fluid changed. The Toyota guys used ATF to replace it. I asked them including the supervisor and the answer I got was not to worry they used same ATF for PS too in all cars. Can any expert comment please?

    It is normal, Power Steering oil and ATF is same. Some exceptions can be found but not in Paksitan.

    That oil and pan look CLEAN. The service probably was not needed at this time, but I think that you did the right thing for peace of mind and long trouble free service life.

    It says to use ATF on the reservoir too - for peace of mind you can also check the bottle they pour from.

    And in nearly all cars PSF is ATF unless its some heavy duty application

    @spectra
    yesterday i went to hamza younas autos , pindi saddar , regarding lamp changing, it hardly took a minute to change the HID lamp, cost 7500, but then it was far brighter than the other side lamp, so had to change the other one also, so in total 15000 for two lamps, they were also emphasizing to change headlight glass cover as it would change the car look to new, but i had limited time, will do it next time, cost around 16000 for pair, not exactly remembered, then i changed the front grill, as the old one was slightly broken, the new one is grey chrome, cost 11,500. Also changed spark plugs, each cost 1950, then changed cabin filter cost 3300. Hand break leather also bought, two pair cost 4000. In total i paid 45000, few things also to be changed but on next visit, hopefully to cost another 45000. But i guess these r one time expenses and then confidence on ur car for next 75000 kms. Thanks spectra for ur guidence.
