Default Premio 2007 high fuel consumption

    Hi,

I recently bought Premio 2007 - 1800 cc. consumption of fuel is very high i.e 7.8 Km/Litre City with A/C

Is this consumption normal? I have changed plugs from Toyota and they tuned it but still no results.

I have changed oil / Filter and Air Filter.

Is there anything i am missing?

I think it's pretty much normal - After all, we ARE talking about an 1800cc, A/T car running with the AC in Karachi - Of course, you could always consider getting CNG - LMAO :-)

BTW - This REALLY makes a difference, especially with CVT transmissions, which I think is what the Premio comes fitted with - Maximum average when ensuring that you don't exceed 3 on the RPM

I got Irradium plugs from Plaza costs Rs. 1300/each.
car is 1800 cc, 73000 on auction report, 23000 on ODO meter.

would increasing gap between spark plug would help? any more suggestions?

Which explains your superior fuel average - iVtec is even bigger on the economy factor than the Vtec - And more importantly, the accord doesn't have CVT transmission either - It's the trademark Honda [prosmatec/automatic] shift technology -

I've got a Lancer 1.6 [CVT] and the average pretty much sucks as compared to the Civic 1.6 -

Like someone else here said though, a majority of JDM cars DO tend to have this issue, especially those that are built to provide a significantly superior driving experience -

And @ the poster: On a serious note, I know it's kinda ridiculous, but I've seen [1800cc] Premio owners who have installed CNG and are quite satisfied with the performance... The fact that they even considered CNG obviously means they faced the same consumption issues.

injector cleaner, plug wire checking, and air filter change. plus addition of friction reducer. that is pretty much all you can do.
