    you will find a sticker under the bonnet - follow its specs and yes it is very necessary to change the fluids of a delivery vehicle like a Probox, It must have been driven to death already without any maintenance.

    why do people pay so much on import vehicles, these are standing in open lots for months. and in other countries people dont have time to change oils.. they use car, and sell it move on to next car.life is too fast to waste time on washing a car.

    In jpn oil change is expensive labor, ive seen japanese kids even girls changing oils outside auto zone car shops in massachusettes. those kids trained to manage the cars on their own. nobody has drivers to go change oils for them.

    @levin
    here i disagree with you,you say in foreign people donot have time to get oil change of vehicle,its not so,i ve been abroad as well i saw otherwise
    secondly u said that y do ppl prefer spending money on imported,sir have you seen quality of pakistani made vehicles,here there is not quality control and even a zero meter car have sometimes problems ,morover local veh industry prices are too much inflated,then make and drive of japanese veh as compared to pakistani same model is much different.

    Levin is 100% right with his statement, changing oil is a little time consuming and expensive business outside of Pakistan. Speaking of which, the Probox that you have bought is a delivery vehicle mostly and is made on a disposable attitude, you wont find any sound insulation in it and the engine and transmission will show signs of high wear sometimes too.

    I work on my cars myself and change oils etc, I order filters over the internet and buy oils in discount prices from schemes etc. If I took it to the dealership the oil change bill would be a little out of hand, and the regular jiffylube/firestone shops have monkeys doing work - I wont trust them.

    a price breakup

    car = Nissan Altima CVT2.5 2010
    dealer pricing for oil change
    filter = USD 12/-
    washer for sump plug = USD 1/-
    mineral oil 5 qt (5W30) API SM or SL = USD 5x5 = 25/-
    oil recycling fee = USD 2/-
    labour = USD 15/-

    calculating to USD 55/- (which is a pretty amount)

    home price
    filter MANN USD 5/-
    5qt oil = USD 14 (Walmart)
    washer (USD 3 for a 6 pack)
    labour = free
    oil recycle fee = free

    totalling USD 19/- (acceptable amount) but not everyone changes their own oil.

    even worse for MB
    online filter = USD 8
    dealer filter = USD 30
    8 litres engine oil (sale price = 12x2)
    dealer price = USD 100/- (for the same mineral oil)
    labour = USD 25/-
    recycle fee USD 5/-

    so its not all hunky dory as everyone assumes when buying these japanese orphan cars.

    @haris457
    for new engine use SAE 5W-20 grade engine oil ZIC A+ & ZIC FF (manual gear) ZIC ATF III (automatic transmission)
    Its also better to change gear oil also, and use original air and oil filter.

    Levin.........You are almost funny. 'people don't have time to change oils'? Excuse me. You need to change oils every few thousand kilometers. Are you telling us that in US where there is hardly any public transport and local locomotion is primarily driven by personal vehicles people change their cars every 2 months? Give us a break. As if you are living on another planet. Changing oil takes no more than 15 minutes and in Pakistan, in bigger cities, the facilities of oil changing are really good. You can get it done from almost every petrol pump.
