    Default Crown - Engine Swap

    Hello Everyone!

    This is my recent purchase, Toyota Crown:
    Crown - Engine Swap -346430 Crown - Engine Swap -346431

    Now coming to the issue, the engine has blown off and i need suggestions for the same. My mechanic is of the view that spending on the current engine would be of no use and the same should be replaced. Currently, its running a 3000cc petrol engine. I need suggestions from the experts here specifically related to the most suitable engine without any modifications.
    Main thing to be considered is that it has to be auto tranny!
    Waiting for your valuable input and whether you agree with my mechanic or not!!

    i tend to agree with you. BTW just for my information, would 1jz require any alteration watsoever?

    Well i dont want to go for overhaul as my experience with the overhauling has never been good. Today i have to visit and check few options. Will keep you posted with the developments.

    Please refrain from swaps of UZ engine, not worth it in your case since your car will be a daily driver.

    1JZ-GE
    2JZ-GE
    2JZ-FSE

    These three engines will suit your car the best, all work flawless with Automatic tranny and won't cost you a lot. 1JZ and 2JZ won't require any alteration at all, they're bolt on fits.

    Overhauling will be a waste so the decision for a swap is great

    Don't go for GTE engines since a Turbo daily driver will be a pain in the long run. N/A power is what you're looking for and the GE engines will be the best option.

    If I were you, I'd just go get a 2JZ-GE, best of luck with the swap

    2JZ-GE is stock engine for this car.

    if you swap an engine what is surity of its reliability. keya guarantee hai k us par kam nahi hoya aur reworked nahi hai jo stock engine hai ap nai use kara ap ko maintenance interval ka idea hai so get an estimate for overhaul kuch maths karyeay for financial aspect work out economical rasta for yourself

    Well thanks for the suggestion!
    What i have decided is that i will go for overhauling as the parts are not that difficult to find.
    Had seen few engines over the last days, nothing to my satisfaction so far!
    the Block is out and the issues are being sorted out!
    In the end, i would definitely appreciate the overwhelming response received from the pakwheeler community. Will keep you posted with the details!

    post the photos of removed engine, then after machining after assembly & before fitting in car please

    in the mean time ask some chohta to wash the engine bay with warm water surf & scotch brite sponge

    hi dears
    i have the same model same body diesel car, i have driven it like 3/4 months very smoothly but parked since last one parked due to "back" in engine, now m confused what should i do...either overhaul the same diesel engine, which cost around 50k.......or replaced the engine from 2jz 3000cc petrol and get CNG fit

    anybody even interested to buy this in same condition, do contact me

    bro i have a crown as well, i think there is a thread on pw as well. i have swapped in a 1jz ge with auto tranny and running cng on it as well. bolt on fit no alterations and very reliable.

    What about swapping with 1G-FE which's also one ov stocks for Crowns.
    Please reply as I want a swap with diesel 2L-TE. Between how much each of those cost and what's worth ov my 2L?
    Which's best on CNG 1G/1JZ/2JZ?

    By "end model" do you mean "2Jz-FSE" (D4-Direct Inj)?
    Today I found another option from market i.e "4GR-FES" with not so much price addition (as I'm getting a complete package of A to z complete engine including gear, wiring, fuse bks, ECU, etc. Engine was off Mark eks 2006.
    your suggestions please.
