From where u heard that camary requires high octane fuel, and which year camary are u talking about.I dont think so there are any pessenger cars that are designed such that thay could not run on regular. High octane is a necessity for some high performance cars and all formula cars. And much much higer octane rating fuel is used in Turbine engine in jets and choppers.

I agree with codernaut....most cars can run on regular gas. Hi Octane or sumpreme quality gas is good for the engine due to lower emissions and less discharge of carbon mono-oxide. Hi octane gas also results in less than regular carbon deposits both inside and outside your car's system...starting from

    1)fuel injectors
    2)combustion chamber
    3)headers
    4)catalytic convertor
5)oxygen sensors (may not be a requirement in Pak vehicles)
    6)exhaust pipe
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it..and so restriction of free thought and free speech is the most dangerous of all subversions.

high octane should only be used on cars that are like really expensive or have enigne that is above V-8. Camry is a regular car. Its not a mercedes so why would it need high octane. Between regular gas n high octane, the performance would be only 1%-5% difference

    WRONG

the use of hi octane does not depend on the size of the engine
it depends on the compression ratio of the engine
if a car has an high compression engine it will knock on regular gas
we hav civic's here wid high compression pistons which can only run on hi octance fuel
    so its not a biggy
and yes thw camry has a hi compression engine compared to others like accord
issiliye it is PREFFERED to use hi octane ,not necessary

waise toyota shud be ashamed wid its engiens
toyota cars use hi compression engines
honda uses relatively lower compression engines
and still honda engines pump out more power
ive heard that camry has a compression ratio of 10.2:1
while accord has a ratio of 9.4:1
and still accord makes more power!!
