First check if its the bulb or the ballast that is not working...

Original denso ballasts (which come is toyota's, honda's, lexus etc) cost around $165 a pair...
Original D2S Philips and Osram bulbs cost around $100 a pair and D1S bulbs cost around $170 a pair...

You can get local Chinese bulb and ballast for your car, they were easily available last time i checked, but they wont be as good as the originals...

The dealerships always sell parts at a much higher price.. Even if you get them from any dealership abroad, they are still going to charge you around $400 for just the ballasts..

Check this site out : The Retrofit Source online: headlight upgrades for all applications ..
One of the most reliable source for oem bulbs, ballasts, projectors etc...
Im using the retrofit source's Morimoto kit's in my car's for almost two years now. never had any problem, plus their focus is excellent unlike the chinese bulbs...

Do note if you have to change the ballasts you will have to check it for both the head lamps as the new one will be brighter then the old.

Bro, buying from toyota will cost you a fortune. Their profit percentage is over 250% on spare parts. They charge like 26k rs only for a power windows motor of LC prado. try searching in kabli market, you'll most probably find a perfect replacement part, but first, as a bro said, diagnose the problem. Whether its with the ballast or the HID tube itself. According to the best of my knowledge, camry has 6000K HIDs as stock headlight.

seems both of you have lost track of zeros for a K while mentioning K at end of figure - a K is 1000(3 zeros at right side of digit)

frankly speaking uncle, I didn't expect this from an educated guy of your age, this K denotes the "kelvin" scale of temperature and not zeros. Correct yourself.

We are talking about High Intensity Discharge (HID) temperatures here.

Thank you Bhanjay learned something about HIDs

means that in Toyota Prado ( Petrol) the head lights are with HIDs ?? Because at low beam light is perfectly fine & enough for night driving but as soon as punch to high beam its kind of daylight (150 times more whiter & brighter then low beam)

i do not see any blast box or any extra hard wire to the light in engine bay. & there is no flick or load on alternator or battery either

    any time uncle jee.

Yes, new prado has HID projector lights, but not the older one. But the older prado has lights anyways.
