its crap shoot at this time because these cars are orphans with no ready available support for repair or parts. So it will face the lets dry it then test whats wrong.

Flood water is real bad news in Karachi as it also contains corrosive raw sewage water which destroys PCBs and wiring connectors.

That's the correct approach. Take them out and let them dry. Then see what's wrong

taking your car to Toyota dealership is the best option instead of wasting the money here and there. I also own a fielder. if not satisfied by Toyota motors, then take your car to ds autos dha phase 1 or khan motors. starting and making your car fine is not an issue for them

the good thing about the XLi corolla is that you can buy each and every little part of it BRAND NEW from any toyota dealership in Pakistan, you cannot do that with a fielder, vitz, fizool dabba etc.

if the car is already with some tim_nim_pinko electrician with no diagnostic computer avlbl he will ensure nobody else succeed. thats the 'mindset' am talking about.

chk your PM the guy is at tariq road with diagnostic computer you can request him to walk along to the electrician & precisely identify the errors & possible recitifications.

normally there is a relay that controls the self motor... if that shorts out the self will turn over as soon as the battery is connected... and wont turn of even when the engine is running... best to let the engine and all parts dry out... use a blower or hair dryer carefully... remove every single bit of moisture.
the problem is not our govt... its the people..

My Toyota Belta also submerged due to the same flood on the night of 4th Aug 2013 at Sunley Cottages, It's under repair with a mechanic/electrician with computerized equipment and understanding near Nipa flyover. However I later came to know that for such a work 'Khan Motors' is the place to go as they specialize in such services.

My brother's Corolla GLi 2009 also flooded the same day and Toyota Eastern Motors has made an estimate of over 1.2 million for repairs, my brother's car was insured though and he may get it totaled by insurer.

I got my Belta back after repairs, cost of repairing (labor + parts) reached over one hundred and thirty thousand. It was repaired by CarMan (irfan Bhai) near Nipa flyover. Done exceptional work, car is as good as new now.
