Default Engine swap in Toyota Crown From 2JZ-GE to 1G-FE

    Asslam O Alikum!
today we started the engine swap previously it was fitted with 2JZ-GE but it was not good in fuel economy but the acceleration and performance was too much. so putting the acceleration and power at a side we decided to put some economy motor in the vehicle. so decided to swap it with the Toyota 1G-FE with ECT transmission. which was donated from the GX100 Toyota Mark 2 2001 model vehicle. folowing are some picture's of the swap. and will update later.

Body change wali gaari bikti bhee achi nahin hai. iss liye issi ke saath karain jo karna hai. Waise 1G-FE in this big body wil not be economical. Get ready for some negative feedback sessions with customer.

owning a toyota crown with a 3.0 litre engine and complaining of fuel economy? Are you serious?

I drive a 3.2 petrol engine benz but I had a 1.6 diesel VW in Pakistan that did 22-24 km/lit - should I complain that the benz is too expensive.. NOPES. They are worlds apart.

Also what I see here is that the previous engine was not kept nice at all, economy does not come along only with wiring and stuff, maintenance, filters, oils, driving style and quality of spares used also play an important role in it, also quality of maintenance work done. Looking at that dirty of an engine bay, i am suspecting it was not engine, it was owner.

the chasis is from 1990 crown and there is no cut and weld stuff on the chasis and the body was bolt by bolt fitted no alteration done in the body or chasis and also the Body custom duty is also paid so no objection with the body change and hence clear to roam around and due to duty paid body. it is worthing the same as original. as far as the concern of economy it is the crown's original engine toyota offered it in the domestic crown till 2001. but in the late 94 it was offered with the traditional pressure shift transmission. but in this case we are swapping an ECT transmission for better acceleration. as we had swapped earlier a lot of crown's with 1G-FE no complain has come regarding the engine performance and economy . and guess what will be the economy of this engine in the crown??????

    crown come with 3 different variety of gasoline engine's 1G-FE 2.0, 1JZ-GE 2.5, 2JZ-GE 3.0, 2L-TE 2.4D.
so chosing a economical engine for this sedan as we had swaped a lot of crown's with this engine.

Mark 2 grande 2001 itself gives 7-8 in city. I can expect 6-7 in crown. Do you go direct with clutch fan or let it work on its own?

the previous engine was keept well maintained by our loyal customer i.e oil change, air filter replacement etc at time a big problem with the JZ series engine is when you will wash it you you will be in a big trouble because the water enter's the spark plug damping area and flot's aboue the spark cable's so cause the missing issue and creates the big problem for the respected customer that's why the engine bay was pretty messed up y dirt.

no the figure's aree wrong as you searched it brother . previously fitted the vehicle's with the same engine does 12/13 km /L in the city driving in islamabad and upto 16/17 on long run's on light foot. the clutch fan will be trated with some oil lubes to harden a little as the half cut was imported from the russia a lot of snow there fixing the clutch is a nonsence on these engine's.

hahahaaaaa bhai ji that's what I was asking on the other forum to properly hook up the wiring according to the diagram and not letting jugariis electrition's to work on the ride for your vehicle let it be wired up proprly as QG-18 had lot of issues these day's.

more picture's from the engine bay. engine foundation's are the original one's from the crown 1G-FE no cutting or modification is required for the engine to fit in the bay. Had to go to compleate the engine wiring harness because had some harsh compliments are coming from the GHQ.

Wiring is appropriate. Nissan consult identifies the ecu and all readings correctly and I am very happy with my ride. Best of luck with your project and i would like to meet the owner for some actual feedback on mileage and swap. Claims before a swap are always like the ones you are doing defying laws of physics and chemistry.

yes it is succesfull as the average cost was 15rs/km and it was brought down to 9 rs/km but still want to decrease it our target is 4.5 rs/km.

    Well..
I can imagine the state of a crown with a 2.0L engine. 1.3L econo boxes will cross it. Even with 2jzge. this car lacks low end torque.
Mark II grande maximum gives 8 km/l that too in Islamabad driving with speeds touching 70-80km/h mark.
Crown with 2jz-ge even gives 4 km/l if driven with hard foot. It's beyond my imagination how a 2.0L 1G-FE would give 12/13km/l. That too in city driving and 17-18 km/l on long.
    Good luck with swap.
