    Default Mark X Transmission problem, Experts Plz Guide

    Assalaam O Alaikum,
    I have purchased a Mark X few weeks later, now I realise that my car is running on 4 gears only although it have 6 speed auto transmission, gears from 1 to 4 shifts normally,
    etc when I m very light on gas (picks it up very lightly) 2nd gear shifts @ speed of 10 km/h,
    3rd gear shifts @ speed of 20 km/h,
    4th gear shifts @ speed of 35 km/h,
    After that it stopped up gear shifting, it runs @60 km/h with 2000 rpm,
    @80 km/h with 3000 rpm,
    @100 km/h with 4000 rpm,
    And becomes very hard on gas, I mean it consume a lot of petrol.
    I have discussed this issue to many mechanics and experts, and done these few things
    1)changed transmission fluid with Toyota T-IV (it gone about 5 liters in the tranny)
    2) cleaned transmissions oil filter
    3) reset ECU many times,
    After resetting ECU it become a normal transmission and changing all 6 gears, but after couple of hours or a day only it again stuck in 4 gears,
    I reset ECU by pulling both battery terminals for some time, after reconnecting battery wires car start in first self but its rpm goes up and down for some time then set around 800 to 900rpm is that right way to reset ECU?
    Experts please guide me how to manage, I also contacted to Toyota showroom on Rashid minhas road I think it is Toyota western and asked them for reprogramming of ECU but thay said we don't deal in mark X, I don't want to go to local mechanics,
    Your help will ne highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    why you want to reset the ECU - why not visit some shop having a automotive scanner for fault diagnosis?

    cause i heard from someone..that resetting the ECU makes the fuel consumption better and remove all the problems including gear shifting and all these.

    vai..can you plz explain ..what do i do when i need to change the battery.. what's the procedure... what i know is what they do is only open up the terminals and change the battery..

    should the find the errors in ECU at first by going to any workshop or something else?

    sir please stop listening to gossip channels of your favorite medium. Only "Agha water class of 'R&D scientists ' talk around such non-sense. Resetting an ECU does not improve performance & fuel efficiency in any 'Vehicle'
    -
    connect a stand by battery in parallel as in Jump starting connectivity - remove the dead battery - install the fully charged new battery - remove the cables. The ECU remain alive all the time n no re-programming / remapping / self-learning is needed.

    Sir

    If ECU is reset during self removal by disconnecting batteries what should a person do than.
    Car is driving fine but do I need to get it reprogrammed? It's been almost 3 to 4 weeks this ECU reset has been done.

    question is WHY in the world battery terminals were disconnected in the 1st place - ? alright battery replacement agreed, and now if there is no CEL what is the trouble you are facing. - If there is a trouble the scanner will report if even if CEL is not triggered. [ highly unlikely ] in a JDM Mark-X

    Generic OBD scanners may not scan a random " JDM ECU " in my opinion.

    " I was to change the cell of my Mark X's remote. Took it to a cell changer person, he opened whole the remote instead of the specific portion of cell. After packing back the remote, now the car is not starting. Whenever i put the remote the remote in the slot, the push to start doesn't generate current. I connected the sensor detecting computer to the car, the computer shows fault in the immobiliser of the car, the code of remote doesn't matches the immobiliser code in the car, now any way to fix that?"
