Default My experience with Toyota Aqua.

Driving Toyota Aqua actually gave me a positive feel, Very decent road grip imo fantastic, I have been pushing up the throttle by fair margins and the car felt pretty stable braking was pretty good as well while even at higher speeds, Traction Control is there as well to assist.

On the comfort level, I would say it was decent as well maybe i drive civic with coilovers so i would literally feel any car comfortable. But driving it all day around city, In heat and fasting, I felt all at ease and my shoulders which get tired driving civic for 1 hour continously never really felt like being tired even after driving the car for whole day, On bumps its decent as well.

For interior, The seats are well crafted in design, Multimedia Steering, Climate Control and Seat Height Adjustment make it worthy to sit in, Rear leg space is also fine but less spacy than vitz obviously, Speedometer is also good looking, Trunk Space is better than Vitz. However I feel interior plastic does not sound so good or feel solid, The gear knob should be bit more appealing, Dash design on left could have been better though its okay.

Well, For the acceleration part, Car is a rocket, Very very responsive and fast due to excellent body to power ratio, The car literally picks up like anything and is truly mean in that aspect, Just push up that throttle and boom, That is how responsive this car is, No lags nothing, Smooth Rapid pick up. Hence good acceleration backed by road grip.

Lastly the fuel economy, Its pretty good as well, Was giving around 18-20 in city even after i floored it with literally full paddle. And imo will be lot better if someone drives it normally.

Verdict: The car has its pros and cons, Some drawbacks like poor interior plastic feel, a relatively awkward looking tail lights though i like the exterior specially the front, Also I feel some elements in interior could have been more attractive, But all in all it feels like value for money, Considering if a person needs a feature laden hatch including air bags, Auto Ac.etc whilist the acceleration is extremely good which makes the car intrresting to drive for people below 30, Hence also a good package for college students with decent space, pick up, specs and fun factor. But all in all its value for money for what it offers while being an interesting feature laden hatch.

P.S: Sorry for any typo errors, As i posted this via phone.

Very nice and detailed thread. Very helpful for buyers.
The car is surely good and much better option than vitz after adding a few $$$$

To add; I was driving old snow tyres that came with the car, And still grip was really good along with braking.

Very nice detailed review i was looking for ..
You have shared both good and bad points about this car
Infact 90 percent are going in its favor
Silent bhai pls pls dont mind , as far as i remember you have few aquas up for sale but at present this car has a really bad n slow response ppl are not going for aqua instead they still try to find neat clean prius old shape in this budget

I know you are a nice member and would never give a biased review

Are you sure about what ever you have said ??
Because i am really interested in getting a hybrid now
Currently new shape 1.8 prius is not in my budget
    So my options are
    Fit Hybrid Shuttle
    Honda Insight 2012 facelift
    Toyota Aqua

And i am really confused ..
If i wait and save for another 6 to 8 months hopefully i would be able to get 1.8 L prius after that
But 8 months is a long period and esp when i am getting really nice offers for my Reborn now by some friends
    So really confused ...
    And obv i am scared
Still whenever i think about mechanics , maintenance and God Forbid if any thing malfunctions
What will i do then ..
Personally i believe mechanics know prius now , since its a old car in market now and they are dealing with it since 2010 / 2011

What about these new market cars ??
    Fit hybrid
    Aqua
    ??

What about regular oil oil filter and air filter change ?
    Are these easily available ?
Recommended engine oil for aqua ?? Grade ??
And it has CVT right ??
What about Ground Clearance ?? Can it pass speed breakers without touching the ground becoz prius new shape almost touches every other speed breaker
Can 2 adults sit at rear seat comfortably ?? All 4 passengers in the car comfortably ( having avg height of about 5.9ft )
    Whats the tyre size ?
What about different variants / trims ? And their respective price ranges ?
And according to google as far as i remember it has best fuel avg figures even better than prius ..
And lastly what about battery life and availablity and price ??
    Sorry for so many questions

I am not in a hurry
You can reply in detail whenever you get some time
    Thanks

As for insight , it is discontinued and it had IMA technology which wasn't successful and replaced in new fit hybrid by earth dreams, so i would not recommend insight(which has poor resale as well) and fit (which has IMA again). New model of fit has earthdreams but it is very expensive to import at present.
Aqua is most fuel efficient hybrid and is the best selling car in Japan since its launch. Problem i observed with it is that it has less rear leg room and is not very spacious. Boot space is also not big. Price of good car in Pakistan is 16-17 and it seems wiser to go for the prius, this is the reason it is not doing very good here, if its price comes down to 14.5-15 then it is sure buy.
As for other points, its maintenance and battery are same as prius so you will face no issue.

I did not find any such negative points in the car hence it was mostly in the favor, I found the car enjoyable and fun to drive for me, However the annoying things such as plastic quality, rather weird looking tail lights (Personal Pref though), Regarding Fit or Insight i have not used them but they seem very good cars as well. Whatever i have wrote is only after driving the car continously, Loved the acceleration and pick up, Grip was also equally good. On your querry in regard to ground clearance, I did not have passangers in the car for long, But it did not hit the breakers, Maybe it would hit up on those real big breaker, Clearance i guess is better than prius.

@InNoCeNt_DeViL front driver seat has height adjustment, So i did not faced any issue though im 6 foot 2. Climate Control and Ac works well, Trunk Space is really large, Much more larger than Vitz you can compare it by the fact that i barely fit in 2 Tyres in Vitz Trunk while i had 4 in Aqua's trunk. Projector headlamps look beautiful and perform well like in prius, Transmission is Cvti, No lags in pick up or acceleration straight right from the word go.

It is highly unlikelt that Aqua will come down to 1450 to 1500, Maybe you might get 5 year old car in 2017 in that range, Im saying this because its already enjoying almost a maximum duty depreciation. And car prices in japan are rising and not falling lately.

No dear brother i havent driven prosmatec civic but manual. Civic is around 1300kg i think, Aqua is around 1030 kg only. However acceleration of Aqua is certainly better than Vitz 1300cc, Axio Hybrid, It gets pick up right from go which even prius lacks even being 1800cc, The black aqua was getting the hell out of Altis 1.8 2009 model Cruisetronic. The grip is what equally impressed me, A perfect all round car. To add further in regard to parts, One car had Ac kit stolen at port, The kit was easily available in lahore.

One more thing, They should have added slimmer and sleeker gear knobs in this car, Bar tail lamps would have looked very impressive though aftermarket goodies can be imported, Also i dont like the new side mirror design.

Axio Hybrid accelerates slower than Aqua due to body to power ratio, Comfort Level of Axio and Aqua cant be compared, Axio is pure class and gem to drive on any road such noiseless car, It just does not let you feel the bump. Features are almost same.

No it does not feel underpowered, But was comparing Aqua and Axio's acceleration, The former has a rocket like response whilist later is relatively dull due to body to power ratio.

Would 110% Agree with the RED highlighted part of your review. it truly is a "CHOTA ROCKET"
