Default My experience with Toyota Aqua.

Driving Toyota Aqua actually gave me a positive feel, Very decent road grip imo fantastic, I have been pushing up the throttle by fair margins and the car felt pretty stable braking was pretty good as well while even at higher speeds, Traction Control is there as well to assist.

On the comfort level, I would say it was decent as well maybe i drive civic with coilovers so i would literally feel any car comfortable. But driving it all day around city, In heat and fasting, I felt all at ease and my shoulders which get tired driving civic for 1 hour continously never really felt like being tired even after driving the car for whole day, On bumps its decent as well.

For interior, The seats are well crafted in design, Multimedia Steering, Climate Control and Seat Height Adjustment make it worthy to sit in, Rear leg space is also fine but less spacy than vitz obviously, Speedometer is also good looking, Trunk Space is better than Vitz. However I feel interior plastic does not sound so good or feel solid, The gear knob should be bit more appealing, Dash design on left could have been better though its okay.

Well, For the acceleration part, Car is a rocket, Very very responsive and fast due to excellent body to power ratio, The car literally picks up like anything and is truly mean in that aspect, Just push up that throttle and boom, That is how responsive this car is, No lags nothing, Smooth Rapid pick up. Hence good acceleration backed by road grip.

Lastly the fuel economy, Its pretty good as well, Was giving around 18-20 in city even after i floored it with literally full paddle. And imo will be lot better if someone drives it normally.

Verdict: The car has its pros and cons, Some drawbacks like poor interior plastic feel, a relatively awkward looking tail lights though i like the exterior specially the front, Also I feel some elements in interior could have been more attractive, But all in all it feels like value for money, Considering if a person needs a feature laden hatch including air bags, Auto Ac.etc whilist the acceleration is extremely good which makes the car intrresting to drive for people below 30, Hence also a good package for college students with decent space, pick up, specs and fun factor. But all in all its value for money for what it offers while being an interesting feature laden hatch.

P.S: Sorry for any typo errors, As i posted this via phone.

yes aqua is an excellent car specially if you are looking for a complete package with cost benefit analysis .... i will surely recommend it over any other car in price range of 16 lac and specially in hybrid category. The only few things i dislike in the car is

    1. Engine top not covered with any beautiful plastic cover
    2. Poor designing lines on dash board specially in front of passenger seat.
    3. Dashboard without any symmetry from middle specially close to gear lever and climate control.
    4. Ugly looking back lights

please note that above mentioned points have nothing to do with car performance and drive they are just cosmetics, so in terms of practicality its 100/100

Also i feel steering could have been same as that of Axio, Rest i agree with all 4 points and have explained back lights and dash design from left that i did not like.

    @InNoCeNt_DeViL

I wud recommend u Aqua instead of Insight or Fit, bcoz in 2012 the best hybrid techonology was with toyota... Though later earth dream comes in honda which is also good....

The car is aggressive no doubt...

To me only negative point is rear seat leg room.... Rest tail light can be smoked or altered...

Axio hybrid is being imported by a friend for his customer, it is costing 24.5 lacs... So aqua with same engine in 1.6 million is best option atm...

    Looks so nice from front
Back is not ugly , its just not impressive or attractive , word ugly should be used for cars like toyota bB

    Interior is just ok
Infact looks good if you compare it with passo or vitz and many other jdms
The main negative point is rear leg room
Since i am using 8th gen civic which has ample rear leg room and new corolla which is a JahaaaZ very very spacious

My main concern is to achieve max fuel economy
This car or any hybrid that i will get in next few months will be a daily runner infact a daily driven car for me and for my father both
And i am sure it will give much much better fuel avg than both corolla and civic
But the rear leg room is really a bad point for me
I am sure the car will give us a good saving but rear passengers will always feel uncomfortable
    So really confused

Rear passangers will not really feel uncomfortable, Space is less than vitz but its not that it is non existant, Also you can always adjust front seat. I did not face any real problems at back however definitely space is less than vitz.

Regarding engine, they are the same but Toyota has done some changes. The new engine in Aqua/Axio is water cooled just like 3rd gen Prius and AC has no belt, these changes make engine more reliable. Moreover it is more easier to maintain; for instance in second gen Prius its really difficult to clean throttle body, its way deep down, it takes so much time to remove and then clean it same is the case with spark plugs, where as in Aqua the engine parts like throttle body, air filter, plugs etc are easier to clean or replace, as they are not hidden beneath anything.

And second Gen Prius was available till 2012 not 2014/15, so people can import them now as well, but they are really difficult to find.

I personally didn't drive Aqua, but my brother drove and tested it against our second gen Prius. He really liked Aqua but he preferred Prius over it because its more comfortable and gives a feel of a heavier more solid vehicle. But Aqua can be fresh imported where as second gen Prius must be impossible to find clean.
