Default Intend to buy used Mark II 1973. Help needed please.

AOA. I've always admired Toyota Mark II's shape.... The old one which came in 1970s. Thing is I have seen an advertisement on facebook and I've called the guy and now I will go to check the car along with a mechanic. Here is what the ad says:
Toyota Corona Mark 2 1973 is up for sale.
    I have restored it recently.
Engine: 2C Diesel sealed and stock. (average 10-11 km with Ac),
    Rear-Wheel Drive,
    Land Cruiser 1998 Power Steering,
Toyota Surf and Hiace Radiator, Dual Electric Fans and Ac installed a week ago,
New Dashboard ,Seats, Carpeting, Door Panels, Roof and Complete Interior work,
Back Camera, Touch-screen Navigation (probox), Kenwood speakers, woofer and amplifier.
17 inches Low-Profile Rims and Tyres (215), Red bullet nozzle cap,
New Front and Back LEDs lights, New Headlights, 4 HIDs and Fog Lamps, Hydraulic Bonnet, Orignal Chromed Bumpers and other accessories.
    New 132V battery.
    Perfect Suspension, Brakes and Hand-brake.
No mechanical and electric work. Not a single work required. One of its own kind alhamdulillah.
Tikli and All Documents available, Tax Paid and CPLC cleared.
Modified for personal use. Just buy and drive.
Only Serious buyers may call/inbox for Price and other Information.

Could the pakwheels community help a fellow member by suggesting things which I should check when buying this car. I am also new to diesel engines and their working. Please advise me on that.

Guy is asking 3.1 for the car, Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

310 Thousand for 1973 butchered Toyota T-60 / 70 . locate over this forum using search option ' diesel engine health '

    - If you are willing to throw your money for some passion / obsession think twice to make choice.

The WORST part for this model Corona with butchered chassis to " THOON'SO'FY " a diesel in the bay is front suspension. The Front Suspension Rubber bushes 8~12 in total give up after every 4 tank fills. - at every change of front suspension bushed wheel alignment is needed.

do not get spell bound by the ' list of gadgets & installed sound system ' accessories are not for car handling & performance

I suggest stay away if its your " own " money and you are totally reliant on a mechanic to fix any issues related to your car.

even if ABBA Mohtarram is financing you a ride, please have mercy
    -

    - if by all means you consider it your money worth - please check the papers, cross check engine number & chassis number physically personally in the car and then on the registration papers. make sure the file is complete in all respect, These cars when resgistered for the 1st time had 4 digit & 3 alpha bet regn number, at plate change it was 6 numerics only, again at plate change regime it was Single alphabet & 4 numerics. all shall be in order with current original number plates, and upto date tax paid for respective engine CC ..

    Good Luck

first thing is that price is high. then i would not advise you to buy this car as you can hardly find its body parts. in this price bracket one can get E70 or E80 corolla in karachi.

Oh and what about the maintenance costs for 2c engine? Are the parts available? Can you find a mechanic who could repair and diagnose problems with this car easily?
    Guys please provide your input.

Thank you for your input. I will make sure to ask my mechanic to check these things. Its not compulsory to buy this car of course. It's just that it looks good like good old Dodge Charger with a body kit. If there's anything problematic I will not buy the car. I surely appreciate the experienced advice you have given me.

This thing bothers me that in this range (0.3 million) you can't get a shimmering well maintained car. You can get mehran, charade, alto, khyber, margalla and 70s and 80s civic or corolla... Most of these cars are used very poorly and not properly maintained. Every expensive maintenance is postponed to the new owner. If you're buying these cars you must set aside some cash to bring them to proper nick.
Either you purchase a very poor condition car and do all the denting painting overhaulin' stuff and bring that car back to life or you buy something directly from the market with some cash for the rainy days. What's the third alternative here?

Actually I have been going to him for the past 5 years for my mehran's periodic maintenance and I have seen him working on 2.0d sometimes. If you could recommend any good mechanic in k-town for diesel engines it would be helpful.

Demand is reasonable to me... After so much restoration its his right to ask this amount... And i think you will be getting it in bargain price... Anything around 2.5 is good enough....

Ofcourse such cars are kept for love and passion.... If the car is good, u should go for it....

@muradi plz u also suggest something on this...
