Default Stolen Car recovered after 10 years

Friends, I would like to seek advice pertaining to stolen vehicle chassis number being temepered, My vehicle Toyota hilux was stolen in 2006 and is recently been caught in Quetta and I am trying to get the possession. However I have been told the body has been changed and chassis number tempered which will have some lab test.

Can anyone brief me the procedure and how much time does it take to go through such process of recovery ?

I know the procedure in Lahore.
If the FIR has been registered then have to visit CIA office with documents.
CIA will send the car to their laboratory for testing. Called “Forensics”.
Normal time is 30 days. But for urgent cases its like 3~10 days.
After that have to visit Excise and Custom office for record updation and tokens.
I hope procedure will be similar almost everywhere in PK.

If some car has gone through some laboratory/forensics here in PK, then its re-sale is almost zero. Don't know why !!

Almost everyone in Pakistan is doing corruption to the extent they can. Our leaders are doing at the level they can do. So why should we complain?

10 Years? Our law enforcement has really improved a lot because: My Dad's Datsun 120Y stolen in 1984 was recovered in 2006 after 22 Years.

I was contacted by private recoy agents who worked for Insurance company. Initially it sounded strange to me but when I met I understood the procedure, unfortunately my car was not insured in the year it was stolen. So they contacted the insurance co. who routed them to us.

let them help you for the paper work & return of vehicle, they [ the recovery agency ] know the inside out and would charge some 'FEE' and you get vehicle back with legit paperwork. If you attempt it on your own, make sure you have deep pockets and enough time ON & OFF to visit provnice of recovery & the paper work completion for return to actual owner in province of theft.
